Meta researchers introduce ‘hyperagents’ to unlock self-improving AI for non-coding tasks

Meta researchers introduce ‘hyperagents’ to unlock self-improving AI for non-coding tasks

Creating self-improving AI systems is an important step toward deploying agents in dynamic environments, especially in enterprise production environments, where tasks are not always predictable, nor consistent. Current self-improving AI systems face severe limitations because they rely on fixed, handcrafted improvement mechanisms that only work under strict conditions such as software engineering. To overcome this practical challenge, researchers at Meta and several universities introduced “hyperagents,” a self-improving AI system that continuously rewrites and optimizes its problem-solving logic and the underlying code.  In practice, this allows the AI to self-improve across non-coding domains, such as robotics and document review. The agent independently invents general-purpose capabilities like persistent memory and automated performance tracking. More broadly, hyperagents don’t just get better at solving tasks, they learn to improve the self-improving cycle to accelerate progress. This framework can help develop highly adaptable agents that autonomously build structured, reusable decision machinery. This approach compounds capabilities over time with less need for constant, manual prompt engineering and domain-specific human customization. Current self-improving AI and its architectural bottlenecks The core goal of …

California Lawmakers Introduce The “Stop Nick Shirley Act”

California Lawmakers Introduce The “Stop Nick Shirley Act”

It would appear that independent journalist Nick Shirley’s expose on medical subsidies fraud in California, largely perpetrated by immigrants, was more devastating to Democrats than anyone could have guessed.  After making waves in Minneapolis by revealing rampant daycare fraud run by Somali migrants feeding on millions in government subsidies (and likely funneling some of that cash to Democrat politicians), Nick Shirley traveled to the Golden State only to find more fraud, including voting scams and medical care scams.  🚨 California is the breeding ground for voter fraud in America, as millions of people vote with no ID, month-long election processes, inaccurate voter rolls, dead people caught voting, even a dog successfully registered to vote, and voter verification is all based on your… pic.twitter.com/7nOIZe5x9D — Nick shirley (@nickshirleyy) February 16, 2026 The investigation has apparently led to at least 21 arrests associated with medical fraud just after Shirley published his report, though no official sources have confirmed a direct connection. This brand of taxpayer theft is an ever present problem within blue states where Democrats and …

WTO members bypass opposition to introduce world’s first baseline digital trade rules

WTO members bypass opposition to introduce world’s first baseline digital trade rules

YAOUNDE: A group of World Trade Organization members agreed on Saturday (Mar 28) to sidestep adoption hurdles for the world’s first baseline on digital trade rules, opting to bring the agreement into force among consenting participants, the WTO said. In recent years, efforts by a group of countries to fold the E-Commerce Agreement into the WTO rulebook were twice blocked by dissenting members. The pact aims to foster an open environment for digital trade. The push to accelerate entry into force, among members who represent 70 per cent of global trade, stems from mounting frustration over those obstructions, a senior diplomat told Reuters.  Under WTO rules, plurilateral agreements among subsets of members require consensus.  At the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference in Cameroon, 66 members settled on an interim arrangement to activate the deal within their countries while pursuing broader incorporation into the WTO framework. Singapore’s Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu said the country welcomes this “pivotal milestone”, adding that its early implementation will “unlock opportunities for our people and businesses in the digital economy”. …

Apple to Introduce Ads in Apple Maps as Part of Services Revenue Push

Apple to Introduce Ads in Apple Maps as Part of Services Revenue Push

Apple is planning to include ads in Apple Maps search results as soon as this summer, reports Bloomberg. Apple is aiming to earn more money from its services division, and it could announce plans for Maps ads as early as this month. Ads in ‌Apple Maps‌ will be similar to ads in Google Maps. Retailers and brands will be able to bid for ads associated with search categories. Starbucks, for example, might display an ad when someone searches for coffee. Restaurants will be able to bid for search terms, and the highest bidder’s ads will appear at the top of the results for a given term. Apple plans to display ads in the iPhone app, Mac app, iPad app, and on the web. We first started hearing about ads in the Maps app last year, but now the feature is nearing completion. Revenue from ads could make up for current and future changes to the App Store that could limit the money that Apple earns, or from the loss of any search deals with Google …

Lawmakers Introduce Bipartisan Bill To Ban Sports Betting Via Prediction Markets

Lawmakers Introduce Bipartisan Bill To Ban Sports Betting Via Prediction Markets

Lawmakers have never met a market they didn’t want to control. And when they can’t do that, they try to crush them – sometimes after taking six-figure donations from competing lobbies. To wit; Sens. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and John Curtis (R-UT), on Monday introduced legislation that would prohibit federally regulated prediction-market platforms from offering wagers on sports events, targeting what they call a regulatory backdoor that has let online betting proliferate beyond state control. Reading between the lines, prediction market betting is clearly a threat to the old guard.  The bill, titled the Prediction Markets Are Gambling Act, would bar entities overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission – including leading platforms Kalshi and Polymarket’s U.S. operations – from listing or trading contracts tied to the outcomes of any sporting event or athletic competition. It would also extend the prohibition to “casino-style games” such as slot machines, video poker, blackjack and bingo. The measure marks the first bipartisan Senate legislation aimed squarely at prediction markets’ expansion into sports wagering. The push comes as the broader U.S. sports-betting industry …

Wimbledon to introduce video review technology

Wimbledon to introduce video review technology

March 21 : Wimbledon will introduce video review technology this year that will allow players to challenge judgement calls made by the chair umpire, the Grand Slam’s organisers said on Saturday. Players will not be able to challenge the decisions of the electronic line calling (ELC) system that was introduced at Wimbledon last year, but video reviews will be available to check other scenarios, like whether a ball has bounced twice or touched a player’s racket or body. “Players will be allowed to review specific judgement calls made by the chair umpire (such as, for example, ‘not-up’, ‘foul shot’, ‘touch’) either on a point-ending call, when a player immediately stops play, or immediately after the completion of a point (in the case of hindrance),” the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) said in a statement. “Players will not be limited in the number of reviews they can request.” The video reviews will be introduced on six show courts, including the Centre Court and Court One. “The technology will be available on Centre Court …

Lawmakers introduce bipartisan POINTS Act targeting gambling addiction treatment funding

Lawmakers introduce bipartisan POINTS Act targeting gambling addiction treatment funding

A group of Republican and Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. House has rolled out new legislation designed to expand prevention, treatment and recovery services for people struggling with gambling addiction. The proposal is said to be one of the most significant federal attempts in more than a decade to address the growing public health concerns tied to legalized betting. The measure is called the Providing Opportunities for Individuals in Need of Treatment and Support (POINTS) Act of 2026. Rep. Erin Houchin of Indiana introduced the bill with Reps. Andrea Salinas of Oregon, Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa and Troy Carter of Louisiana during Problem Gambling Awareness Month. If approved by Congress, the legislation would create a dedicated stream of federal funding for gambling addiction services by redirecting a share of existing sports wagering tax revenue. Lawmakers say the approach would fund prevention, screening, intervention and treatment programs without creating new taxes. “Gambling addiction can quietly devastate families,” Houchin said in a statement announcing the bill. “The financial damage and emotional strain often build over time and …

Did Calvin Klein Really Introduce JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette?

Did Calvin Klein Really Introduce JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette?

No. But she did help her become the face of Calvin Klein. In the first episode of American Love Story, Carolyn Bessette pulls Kate Moss’s headshot out of a pile of rejected photos on Calvin Klein’s desk. Bessette is said to have helped create the look of Calvin Klein’s CK One era, and among her greatest contributions was lobbying—along with art director Fabien Baron—for a then-unknown Kate Moss to appear in a 1992 underwear ad alongside Mark Wahlberg. The resulting TV ad is, to put it in the kindest possible terms, a great reminder that we’ve come a long way as a society in the last 30 years, but it would launch Moss’s career. She would soon go on to become the face of Obsession, and a definitive influence in 1990s fashion in her own right. Was Equinox a thing back in 1992? JFK Jr. in Central Park in 1997. Lawrence Schwartzwald/Getty Images Yup! But JFK Jr. probably didn’t work out there. While he may or may not have ever taken an aerobics class with …
