Maria Teresa Turrión Borrallo is Prince William and Princess Kate’s nanny for their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. She’s worked with the family full-time since 2014, following the birth of Prince George in 2013. While she remains largely behind the scenes, she has been pictured helping out at big royal events and during trips abroad. It’s unknown if the royal children use Maria’s given name when talking to her, but did you know she also has a lesser-known moniker?  Maria is a Norland nanny, which means she was trained at Norland College in Bath, a prestigious college that’s been running since 1892. The Prince and Princess of Wales currently reside at Forest Lodge in Windsor, with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. They have lived there since November 2025, but they still retain their London base, Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, to use when they are in the city. Before the royal couple first moved into the 20-room residence in 2013, it required extensive renovations – including the removal of a hazardous material.  The renovations inside the property came to £600,000 and the roof repair cost £400,000, meaning a whopping £1 million was spent preparing the space for their arrival. It was last lived in by Princess Margaret and had not been refurbished since the early Sixties. The Princess of Wales showed off her barista skills during a visit to London Borough Market – but her husband was not as impressed. Huge crowds formed on Thursday to catch a glimpse of the pair – who even pitched in by serving customers. Kate made husband William a coffee – only for him to turn it away when he realised it wasn’t decaf. Elsewhere she told a brewer that she had to stay clear of alcohol because of her cancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales’s decision to attend the University of St Andrews raised her parents’ eyebrows when she first filled them in on the news following her ten-week trip to Chile.  She was in South America on a volunteering expedition with the Raleigh International Programme and returned home to Berkshire with an idea. The young student revealed she intended to enrol in the Fife-based institution.  However, her news was supposedly not well-received by her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, as they feared she was only keen to attend St Andrews to follow her love interest, Prince William, who announced he would be studying there in August 2000.  Kate was originally due to start an Art History degree at the University of Edinburgh before her change of mind led her to graduate with an honours degree in History of Art from St Andrews in 2005.  In his tell-all book, William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, about the royal couple, Russell Myers revealed why the princess’s parents were “dead set” against Kate attending William’s university initially.  …

But there is one thing they vehemently disagree on – rugby.
