Love HEATED RIVALRY? Here Are the Top 20 Queer Sports Romances on Libby

Heated Rivalry—a M/M queer and steamy hockey romance adapted from a book of the same name by Rachel Reid—has taken hold of the collective consciousness and not let go. Its season finale garnered 10.6 million US viewers, and its production has even brought talks of republishing a secretly published predecessor written in the ’80s by Don DeLillo. It has also, unsurprisingly, increased interest in other queer sports romances. We asked our partners at Libby to share with us the most popular queer sports romances that have been checked on the app, which we’ve included below. Looking at the list, it makes sense that Heated Rivalry is the most popular, followed by other books from the same Game Changers series by Rachel Reid. In fact, Reid accounts for half of the list. If you’re wanting a little more diversity, though, make sure to check out Love and Sportsball by Meka James, Futbolista by Jonny Garza Villa, Check, Please! by Ngozi Ukazu, Out of Step, Into You by Ciera Burch, Team Players by Deanna Grey, The 7-10 …

WUTHERING HEIGHTS and HEATED RIVALRY Among the Most Popular Books on Libby

WUTHERING HEIGHTS and HEATED RIVALRY Among the Most Popular Books on Libby

Libby has shared the most popular books with us from January, and the list includes some of the usual bestselling heavy hitters, like books by Kristin Hannah, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Rebecca Yarros, and others. There are also some very timely additions, such as Heated Rivalry, the second book in Rachel Reid’s queer sports romance series, Game Changer, the classic Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, and sci-fi adventure Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Speaking of, the popularity of Heated Rivalry, Wuthering Heights, and Project Hail Mary across the more than 22,000 public libraries that Libby serves shows just how influential film and TV show adaptations can be on book checkouts, even when the adaptation hasn’t come out yet (which was and is the case with Wuthering Heights and Project Hail Mary). As we’ve mentioned before in other Libby round-ups, there isn’t much diversity—actually, this list has none at all. This is the result of an industry that is overdue for an overhaul. Still, there are many great books by BIPOC and queer authors coming out …

The Traitors’ Stephen Libby reveals TV shows he’d love to join

During his time on The Traitors, Stephen Libby’s stylish selection of outfits attracted almost as much attention as his gameplay – so it’s no surprise that the season 4 winner is pursuing the possibility of a new career in the world of fashion presenting. Stephen recently made his debut hosting a fashion segment on This Morning, and speaking exclusively to Radio Times at a Gala Performance of Cabaret this week, he opened up on the “really, really fun” experience he’d had. In particular, he enjoyed sharing the studio with TV favourite Anneka Rice, explaining: “I grew up watching her, so to suddenly be standing there as part of the same show just felt surreal.” Want to see this content? This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page

This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page

There are stories that nestle quietly into your heart, and then there are stories that crack it wide open before tenderly piecing it back together. This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page belongs firmly in the latter category, offering readers a meditation on grief that feels less like a manual and more like a warm embrace from someone who truly understands. A Gift That Transcends Death Tilly Nightingale’s life shatters when her husband Joe dies after a brief illness. Six months later, on her birthday, she receives an unexpected phone call from Alfie Lane, owner of the local independent bookshop Book Lane. Joe has left her a final gift: twelve carefully chosen books, one for each month of her first year without him. What begins as a painful reminder of all she has lost gradually transforms into something remarkable—a roadmap back to herself. Page’s premise is deceptively simple, yet she mines profound emotional territory from it. The concept of a deceased partner curating a reading list might sound contrived in lesser hands, …

The 20 Most Popular Libby Checkouts of 2025

The 20 Most Popular Libby Checkouts of 2025

With 2025 just in our rearview mirror, now is the perfect time to reflect on a year of reading. Libby—the free app that allows patrons to check out ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines from over 22,000 public libraries across the United States—has shared with us a review of their year in books, and there’s a very clear pattern that emerges. Of the 20 most popular checkouts of 2025, most are fiction books (with the exception of one nonfiction: The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins), half were chosen at some point in the year by a celebrity book club, and all of them are bestsellers. That last point is connected to another point: that there isn’t much diversity. Since bestselling books tend to be the books with the biggest marketing budgets, and the books with the biggest marketing budgets tend to be written by white authors because of how the publishing industry operates, many of the books that make it onto the mainstream bestselling lists are written by white authors. But if you’d still like to …
