The Kinks star Dave Davies believes Moby made “a clumsy mistake” by condemning their song Lola as “gross and transphobic”. Porcelain star Moby hit headlines after he told The Guardian that hearing the 1970 track on a Spotify playlist left him “taken aback” by what he viewed as outdated themes and Dave – who rose to fame in The Kinks alongside his brother Sir Ray Davies – hit back declaring he was “highly insulted” by the musician’s comments about his sibling’s lyrics. The BBC has unveiled three new dramas coming to our screens in due course, including Shy & Lola with Hayley Squires and Bel Powley. Shy & Lola, a new six-part drama for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, is written by award-winning screenwriter and novelist Amanda Coe (Apple Tree Yard, The Trial of Christine Keeler) and produced by multi-BAFTA and Emmy award-winning Clerkenwell Films (Baby Reindeer, The Death of Bunny Munro, The End of the F***ing World), part of BBC Studios. Brit School graduates Olivia Dean and Lola Young dominate the nominations for next month’s Brit Awards, with five each, while indie giants Pulp have been put forward for Best Group for the first time in 30 years. A passenger on the train that derailed in Spain has recounted the horrors she experienced – and one decision that may have saved her life. The tail end of an evening train from Malaga to Madrid, containing about 300 passengers, went off the rails near Cordoba at 7.45pm and slammed into a train with 200 passengers coming from Madrid to Huelva, according to rail operator Adif. A passenger, identified only as Lola, was on the third carriage of the Alvia train going from Huelva to Madrid, but moved to carriage five to be with her friend. It was then that she felt intense braking, causing her to be jolted “several metres” and the power to go out. She told local outlet SUR: “I was incredibly lucky because mine was completely wrecked. I was thrown several metres, and when I managed to get up, everyone was screaming; it was pitch black.” She added: “The two cars in front were left blocking the tracks, with injured people, bleeding, with broken legs.” Lola recalled the panic that set …
