‘I’ve met Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor off-camera – there’s three words that sum him up’ | Royal | News

Lorraine Kelly said she had ‘the misfortune’ of meeting Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (Image: GETTY) Lorraine Kelly has used three harsh words to describe Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, following several exchanges with him. Reflecting on the notable figures she has encountered throughout her illustrious career, the 66-year-old pulled no punches when she branded the former prince “horrible, ghastly and arrogant”. She said: “I always give people the benefit of the doubt, you know, if they’re difficult or demanding or they’re rude, and I think, hmm, okay, you might be an a***hole, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt now. “If they do it again the next time, then you’re an a***hole and I never want to see you again and go away. “But, I always think you’ve got to put yourself in other people’s shoes, but I do get annoyed with people who are very arrogant,” she added. Why aren’t Lorraine or Loose Women on ITV today? Daytime schedule changes explained

Why aren’t Lorraine or Loose Women on ITV today? Daytime schedule changes explained

ITV’s daytime schedule is undergoing a major shake-up affecting both Lorraine and Loose Women with bosses citing budget cuts. In the last episode of Loose Women on Friday 6 March, Kaye Adams confirmed the daytime staple would be off the air for some time. It comes as part of a wider schedule shake-up which sees the long-running ITV show cut from running year-round to a 30-week seasonal schedule. Episode lengths were also cut in half from an hour to only 30 minutes, meaning the show has effectively lost over 70 per cent of its previous yearly airtime. Loose Women was initially removed from air to make room in the daytime schedule for the 2026 Cheltenham Festival which ran from March 10 to 13 but will now remain on its scheduled break before returning next month. The chat show Lorraine is also receiving the same treatment, reducing to a 30-week seasonal schedule and episodes cut to 30 minutes. It is also now on its scheduled break and will return at some point in April. Neither show …

Ballet de Lorraine: Acid Gems and a Folia review – clubby cool with a wild streak | Dance

Ballet de Lorraine: Acid Gems and a Folia review – clubby cool with a wild streak | Dance

In 2008 Adam Linder won the Place prize, the biggest choreography award in the UK at the time, and then seemingly disappeared. Actually he went to Berlin, but suffice to say, it’s a long time since his work has been seen on a London stage. Now he is back with a piece made for Ballet de Lorraine’s double bill. Acid Gems is inspired by George Balanchine’s 1967 abstract ballet Jewels. Instead of the rich hues of emeralds or rubies, as in the original, here we get sharp-sour neon, a backdrop drenched in Wham Bar pink, cut with a palette of other E numbers (lit by artist Shahryar Nashat). Linder trained at the Royal Ballet School before rejecting ballet, but he’s clearly still in conversation with his roots. Although at the outset, this piece seems to owe more to Sharon Eyal than the likes of Balanchine – the unnerving tone, aloof stares, slow undulations and jutting hips, the clan of dancers moving in a group as tight as their Lycra. But it expands into something more …

After the Flood’s Lorraine Ashbourne talks Sherwood twist, Riot Women and more

After the Flood’s Lorraine Ashbourne talks Sherwood twist, Riot Women and more

This article first appeared in Radio Times magazine. As an interview icebreaker, I wish Lorraine Ashbourne a happy birthday for the previous day. She frowns and peers into her computer screen at her home in north London. I panic – was it a faux pas to mention her age? “Fake news!” she declares, before bursting into laughter. “I’ve had quite a few birthday messages, but I’m an Aries. I’m not 65 until April.” As it turns out, Ashbourne is perfectly happy to be hitting her mid-60s. She is, after all, in her prime – in the past 18 months or so she has been in four huge TV shows. In After the Flood, the ITV murder-mystery set against a backdrop of environmental breakdown, she plays a widowed mother with a can-do attitude. She stunned us all in the second series of Sherwood with the big reveal that her character Daphne Sparrow was a former covert spy cop; she didn’t tell a soul about the twist and relished keeping the secret. “It was delightful! The hard …

Lorraine Kelly shares ‘distress’ as father’s tragic cause of death is revealed

Lorraine Kelly took to Instagram on 10 January to share a moving tribute to her father, who has sadly passed away aged 84. “Very sad news. My dad has died,” the ITV talk show veteran, 66, penned alongside an old photo where she is seen smiling at her father. “I am mourning the man who bought me a telescope when I was five years old, who watched the moon landings with me, and taught me to always be curious and interested in everything,” she continued. “He was in poor health, but it has still been a shock.  “Any of you who have experienced a similar loss will know how my brother Graham and I are feeling. Our priority is taking care of my mum, and the family would very much appreciate privacy at this distressing time. We will miss you, Dad,” Lorraine concluded.  Many of Lorraine’s TV pals were quick to offer their condolences online. “Oh, Lorraine I am so sorry,” BBC Sport presenter, Gabby Logan, who lost her own father this week, penned. Meanwhile, …
