Analysis-Rising Gas Prices From Iran War Imperil Trump’s Republican Majority in Congress

Analysis-Rising Gas Prices From Iran War Imperil Trump’s Republican Majority in Congress

By Joseph Ax and David Morgan March 10 (Reuters) – Minutes into Donald Trump’s State of the Union address laying out his argument for why voters should keep Republicans in power in November’s midterm elections, the president boasted that falling gasoline prices had solved a “disaster” left behind by his predecessor. Two weeks later, gas prices have risen by nearly 60 cents a gallon, part of a burgeoning energy crisis that began when Trump and Israel launched air strikes against Iran on February 28 and set off a regional conflict that has expanded well beyond Iran’s borders. The ‌pain at the pump is quickly turning into a ‌political headache for Trump and his fellow Republicans, whose narrow congressional majority looks increasingly fragile ahead of the midterms. Crude oil prices on Tuesday were easing off Monday’s dramatic gains, and it remains to be seen where gasoline prices will head in the nearly nine months leading up to the November 3 election. But even before the Iran war, U.S. voters were already angry about the high cost of …

By a 56%-44% margin, respondents said they oppose the military action. Just 36% approve of how Trump is handling Iran, and a majority (55%) thinks Iran either represents a minor threat or no threat at all to the United States. However, 44% do see Iran as a major threat, and Republicans continue to heavily support the actions and this president. The Trump administration has given varied justifications for why it attacked Iran alongside Israel on Feb. 28, including arguing that Iran posed an imminent threat. The survey of 1,591 national respondents …

Majority of voters disapprove of how Trump has handled Iran

Majority of voters disapprove of how Trump has handled Iran

A majority of registered voters disapprove of how President Donald Trump is handling the situation in Iran and believe the U.S. shouldn’t have taken military action against the country, according to a new NBC News poll. Though support for the White House is mostly polarized along party lines, a small but notable slice of Republicans is unhappy with the decision to launch a war in the Middle East. There was also a significant split between younger and older voters in the early days of the attacks. Fifty-four percent of voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of Iran, compared with 41% who approve and 5% who say they either don’t have an opinion or aren’t sure. A similar share, 52%, say the U.S. should not have taken the military action, while 41% say it should have and 7% say they aren’t sure. The poll is an initial snapshot of how American voters are digesting a major new military endeavor launched by a president who campaigned against past “endless wars” when he sought to return to the White …

Bad news for Meghan fans as majority of buyers ‘leave empty-handed’ | Royal | News

A majority of Meghan Markle fans have reportedly been left disappointed as they are unable to buy As Ever products under the brand’s current shipping policy. According to SimilarWeb data, the amount of visits arriving onto the website was increasing but the issue was the fact that the brand still currently only ships to places across the US. The data showed that the website attracted 196,831 visits in October, rising to 268,200 by January – an increase of more than 71,000 visitors. The website showed a month-by-month increase, with December attracting 245,982 visits. According to Newsweek, Meghan’s brand – which officially launched in April 2025 – has faced a problem with its geographical reach. It shared that approximately two-thirds of As Ever’s visitors originate from countries outside the United States. Meghan, 44, has previously expressed her desire to make her brand accessible to people outside of America. She told the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast in June 2025: “Compliance is different globally when we get into that market, which we will.” Emma then asked her, …

Iran Strikes Should End In Regime Change, Senate Majority Leader Says, Ahead Of War Powers Vote

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has made the maximalist hawkish US case on Iran, saying that any authorized strikes should result in nothing less than regime change in Tehran. “In my view, if you’re going to do something there, you better well make it about getting new leadership and regime change,” the leading Republican Senator said Thursday. “If you’re going to take some sort of action, I think you want to achieve a result that actually brings about the transformational change that I think we want in the region.” A big problem with this viewpoint, which ensures Washington stays in the business of ‘nation building’ and democratizing foreign lands (akin to the Neocon Bush era), is that almost all regional analysts say regime change is next to impossible through a purely aerial mission. Instead, this would require US boots on the ground – something the American people surely would not stomach, and which the Trump administration has pledged not to do time and again. via Denver Gazette/Associated Press “The President, I don’t think, to my knowledge, …

Mobile Gaming Firm Scopely Buys Majority Stake in ‘Pixel Flow!’ Studio

Mobile gaming giant Scopely has struck a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Loom, the Istanbul-based development studio behind Pixel Flow!, a mobile puzzle game that launched in late 2025 and has already been played by more than 10 million people globally. Founded by CEO Kübra Gündoğan and chief technology officer Emre Çelik last year, the company’s game became the only casual game released in the last 12 months to break into the monthly top-20 grossing charts in the U.S., according to Scopely. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is understood that the deal features a multi-year, performance-based structure that values the business in excess of $1 billion. The Pixel Flow! team closed a seed financing round last year that included such investors as Arcadia Gaming Partners. “Pixel Flow! is only a few months into its journey, yet it’s already reached millions of players and climbed the top-grossing charts at remarkable speed,” said Tim O’Brien, chief revenue officer and board member at Scopely. “The combination of creativity, willingness to …
