Huddersfield shooting: Teenager shot as police hunt two masked men | UK | News

A teenager has been shot in Huddersfield, with police searching for two masked men who were spotted just before the incident. West Yorkshire Police said it was called to reports of a teenage boy with serious leg injury outside Fartown Library just after 9pm last night (April 8). The victim fled along with his friends, who swiftly called the emergency services. The teenager was taken to hospital. Police said “two masked men were spotted behind trees in a snicket off Richmond Avenue just prior to the firearms discharge”. A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was seriously injured in a firearms discharge in Huddersfield. “The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team would like to speak to anyone who can assist enquires after a 17-year-old boy received a non-life threatening injury. “The incident occurred on the woodland path, which runs from Richmond Avenue to the rear of the Woodlanders FC football pitch off Spaines Road in Birkby yesterday evening “Police were called at just after 9pm on Wednesday 8 …

Singer Kate Nash and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke are the latest celebrities to be unmasked in a spy-themed episode of The Masked Singer. Gladiators and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show returns get overnight ratings revealed – but did they beat The Masked Singer?

With a new year comes plenty of new releases, and really, Saturday nights in are looking ever brighter as some of the public’s favourite entertainment shows have returned. Last night really was the battle of TV ratings as the BBC boasted the return of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Gladiators, while ITV1 impressed audiences with another wacky instalment of The Masked Singer. But which show came out on top? Well, it was Michael McIntyre’s Big Show that took the top spot for overnight ratings, with the stand-up and variety show launching to an impressive 4.2 million viewers. That total means its share percentage was at 34%, up from 28% the previous season, and the viewing figures peaked at 4.7 million. The show itself launched with plenty of laughs, with McIntyre being joined by England rugby player and Celebrity Traitors star Joe Marler, comedian Romesh Ranganathan, Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy, as well as music from Mel C. The 69-year-old former Sex Pistols frontman was unmasked during Saturday night’s episode of the ITV singing competition, after losing a sing-off against fellow contestant Monkey Business. The show sees celebrities perform while wearing elaborate costumes, with their identities kept secret.
