Motherland’s Anna Maxwell Martin takes no prisoners in first look at new drama Star City

Apple TV has unveiled a new trailer for its new Anna Maxwell Martin-starring alt-history thriller Star City. The sci-fi show, which is set to be released on the streamer on Friday 29 May, is a spin-off of For All Mankind and is once again set in an alternative timeline of the Soviets becoming the first nation to put a man on the moon. But Star City is taking a different approach, exploring the story from behind the Iron Curtain and following the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers navigating the risks surrounding the Soviet space program. The new tense trailer hints at plenty of twists, turns and danger and gives fans a first look at Martin in action as Lyudmilla Raskova, the head of KGB surveillance in Star City, as well as House of the Dragon’s Rhys Ifans, who’s the Chief Designer for the project. Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech Even as scrutiny of the Epstein files reaches a fever pitch, the controversial AI platform Character.AI is hosting chatbots based on the prolific sex criminal, as well as his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell and “Epstein Island” roleplays. The accounts aren’t hidden. Simple keyword searches for “Epstein” and “Ghislaine Maxwell” revealed more than a dozen different bots dedicated to the late sex trafficker, his accomplice, and the island Epstein owned where many of his crimes against girls and women occurred. And this isn’t the first time journalists have flagged the problem: the Bureau of Investigative Journalism first reported on the existence of Epstein bots on the site back in October 2025. The content exists in the form of the site’s “characters” — the companion-like AI bots the site is known for — as well as its newer “scenes” feature. Announced in October 2025, scenes are described as “short, character-driven roleplay moments that turn simple chats into immersive story-driven worlds.” In other …

Casey Wasserman’s name dropped from agency following Ghislaine Maxwell scandal

Casey Wasserman’s name dropped from agency following Ghislaine Maxwell scandal

Casey Wasserman’s name has been scrubbed from the agency he founded decades ago, replaced with an amorphous moniker: “The Team.” Monday’s move comes amid the lingering controversy over the sports mogul’s decades-old association with Ghislaine Maxwell, accomplice of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Following revelations of Wasserman’s salacious 2003 emails with Maxwell, several musicians and athletes — led by pop artist Chappell Roan and soccer star Abby Wambach — said that, to stay true to their values, they would leave the agency then known as Wasserman. Fears of a broad flight of artists and agents prompted Wasserman to announce that he was selling his talent representation and sports marketing firm. Talks with prospective buyers have been ongoing, according to a person close to the agency but not authorized to speak publicly. For now, the agency is still owned by Wasserman and private equity firm Providence Equity Partners. Wasserman continues to lead LA28, the nonprofit group that will be staging the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in two years. The LA28 board’s executive committee unanimously …

‘The cover-up is brazen’: one journalist’s tenacious, traumatic fight to expose Ghislaine Maxwell | Ghislaine Maxwell

On 9 September 2022, Lucia Osborne-Crowley flew from London to Miami and caught a Greyhound bus north to West Palm Beach. The writer and journalist had arranged to meet Carolyn Andriano, who was abused by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell from the age of 14 until she was 17, starting in 2001. Andriano had been a crucial witness in the trial against Maxwell in 2021. When the two women met, Andriano said she had just been visited by a private investigator – a man in his 60s, who had heard she was talking to someone about a book. In a restaurant that afternoon, Osborne-Crowley was approached by a man in his 60s. What was she writing, he wanted to know. He offered her drugs, cash and a meeting with one of Epstein’s pilots, then put his hands under her skirt. When the manager asked him to leave, he waited in the car park; Osborne-Crowley had to escape through a staff exit. She had been following the Epstein case for six years by then and had …

In series three, Charles’ body is found in the Mediterranean Sea after he seemingly fell from his yacht, named after his daughter. Chappell Roan Leaves Agency Over CEO’s Emails With Ghislaine Maxwell

Chappell Roan has announced that she is parting ways with her long-term talent agencies after emails between its CEO and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell were unearthed. Towards the end of last month, Wasserman Media Group founder Casey Wasserman – who is also the chairman of the organising committee for the upcoming Olympics – issued an apology after flirtatious emails between himself and Maxwell from 2003 were made public. In the early hours of Monday morning, the Grammy winner shared a brief statement on Instagram explaining that she no longer felt comfortable being represented by Wasserman. The Pink Pony Club singer told her Instagram followers: “As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman. “I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.” Chappell continued: “I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff …

Davidoff Studios Photography | Archive Photos | Getty Images President Donald Trump, in a call two decades ago to a Florida police chief, bashed his former friend Jeffrey Epstein and called Epstein’s procurer, Ghislaine Maxwell, “evil,” the now-retired cop recounted to FBI agents in 2019, according to a document released by the Department of Justice. Trump called the then-Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter “to tell him ‘thank goodness you’ [are] stopping [Epstein], everyone has known he’s been doing this,” Reiter told the FBI in October 2019, according to the FBI document, known as a 302. Reiter’s name is redacted from the 302. But the document identifies the interview subject as the person who had been Palm Beach’s police chief at the time of the department’s investigation of Epstein, who was Reiter. Reiter told …

Ghislaine Maxwell refuses to answer questions at congressional deposition, lawmakers say

WASHINGTON: Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell refused to answer questions at a deposition before the US House’s Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Monday (Feb 9), according to lawmakers, drawing criticism from both Republican and Democratic members of the committee. Maxwell, who was found guilty in 2021 for her role in helping Epstein sexually abuse teenage girls and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, invoked her Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination and declined to answer questions, lawmakers said after the deposition. “This is obviously very disappointing. We had many questions to ask about the crimes she and Epstein committed, as well as questions about potential co-conspirators,” the committee’s chairman, Republican Representative James Comer, told reporters. CLEMENCY Democrats on the committee accused Maxwell of using the deposition to campaign for clemency from US President Donald Trump and called on the Republican president to rule out such a move. “What we did not get were any substantive answers to the questions that were asked that would advance our investigation,” said Representative James Walkinshaw, a Virginia …

Epstein accomplice Maxwell refuses to answer questions from US House panel

Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NEW YORK / AFP / LE MONDE Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell refused on Monday, February 9, to answer questions from a US congressional committee, invoking her legal right against self-incrimination, lawmakers said. Maxwell, 64, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking, was subpoenaed to testify before the House Oversight Committee to discuss her relations with the disgraced financier. Rather than answer the committee’s questions, however, the former British socialite invoked her Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate herself. “As expected, Ghislaine Maxwell took the Fifth and refused to answer any questions,” committee chairman James Comer told reporters. “This is obviously very disappointing.” He added, “We had many questions to ask about the crimes she and Epstein committed as well as questions about potential co-conspirators.” Maxwell’s attorney, David Markus, said she would be prepared to speak publicly if granted clemency by US President Donald Trump. “If this Committee and the American public truly want to hear the unfiltered …
