Who needs Warner Bros.? Netflix reported better-than-anticipated first quarter (2026) revenue thanks to surprisingly strong member growth, particularly in Japan. Better ad sales and higher subscription prices also kicked in. We did not get an updated subscriber total on Thursday. What we did get was a set of financials that topped expectations, both internal and external. For the March quarter, Netflix posted diluted earnings of $1.23 per share on $12.250 billion in revenue, up 16 percent from the prior year. Net income was $5.283 billion; operating income was nearly $4 billion (+18 percent). The company previously forecast its Q1 2016 revenue at $12.157 billion, and predicted $3.264 billion in profit, which would have diluted to 76 cents per share. The big beat at the bottom line was thanks in large part to a $2.8 billion termination fee Netflix received for not getting Warner Bros. (and paid out by Paramount). The early one is “How Natural Can Ontology Be?” in Philosophy of Science, March 2000, and the recent one is “Objectivity and Measurement in Political Science,” in Philosophy of Science, 2026. Galasso was the original fifth member of the group, alongside Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick. He left just before they signed a record contract with music mogul and convicted scam artist Lou Pearlman in 1995, and was later replaced by Lance Bass. The four remaining members went ahead with singing the deal with Pearlman. Galasso did leave a lasting impact on the group however: the name “NSYNC” was conceived by Timberlake’s mother Lynn Harless and incorporates the last letter of each member’s first name, including the “n” from Jason but not the “e” in Lance. Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, has sparked fresh discussion after sharing her concerns about what she describes as “concerning changes” in the president’s behaviour, drawing comparisons to her grandfather’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary, a clinical psychologist and the daughter of Trump’s late brother Fred Trump Jr., has long been an outspoken critic of her uncle.
