CEO Warns Employers Not To Hire Anyone Who Mentions Work-Life Balance During An Interview

Scott Kuru, who is listed on LinkedIn as the Founder and CEO of Freedom Property Investors, recently shared his opinion about whether companies should hire workers who admit that they want their employer to support a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives. In an age of burnout and workers desperately seeking to move away from our current live-to-work culture in order to find enjoyment in their lives, Kuru is pushing back against workers’ wants. His attitude certainly fits our employer market, where workers are at the mercy of their bosses’ whims because the job market is so bad. A CEO wrote a LinkedIn post telling employers not to hire anyone who mentions work-life balance in an interview. Kuru started his post with a strong stance, stating, “Never hire anyone who’s looking for work-life balance.” He went on to clarify that he is not entirely against it and agrees that all aspects of a person’s life must be in harmony for them to reach their full potential. Roman Historian Suetonius Mentions Jesus – OpentheWord.org

The Roman Colosseum in Rome, Italy. Based on statements that he was a young man 20 years after Nero died, it’s believed Roman historian Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus, was born around 69 AD and died in 122 AD. A close friend of Pliny the Younger, Suetonius eventually became the personal secretary of Emperor Hadrian. According to one source, he was dismissed after having an affair with the emperor’s wife. Suetonius wrote several books before his death, but only one De Vita Caesarum, The Life of the Twelve Caesars, remains with us today. Though the first few pages are missing it provides a breakdown of the lives of Rome’s first 12 Caesars from Julius Caesar to Domitian. While discussing the reign of Rome’s fifth emperor Claudius, who ruled between 41 AD and 54 AD, Suetonius briefly references Christ: “Since the Jews constantly made disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus [Christ], he expelled them from Rome.” Many believe that Chrestus is none other than a phonetic misspelling of the Latin word “Christus” (Christ). Though it was incorrect, the …

Meta Seeks to Bar Mentions of Mental Health—and Zuckerberg’s Harvard Past—From Child Safety Trial

As Meta heads to trial in the state of New Mexico for allegedly failing to protect minors from sexual exploitation, the company is making an aggressive push to have certain information excluded from the court proceedings. The company has petitioned the judge to exclude certain research studies and articles around social media and youth mental health; any mention of a recent high-profile case involving teen suicide and social media content; and any references to Meta’s financial resources, the personal activities of employees, and Mark Zuckerberg’s time as a student at Harvard University. Meta’s requests to exclude information, known as motions in limine, are a standard part of pretrial proceedings, in which a party can ask a judge to determine in advance which evidence or arguments are permissible in court. This is to ensure the jury is presented with facts and not irrelevant or prejudicial information and that the defendant is granted a fair trial. Meta has emphasized in pretrial motions that the only questions the jury should be asked are whether Meta violated New Mexico’s …
