For the past two seasons, the 28-year-old actress has starred as Ainsley Norris, the daughter of Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter’s characters on Landman, Taylor Sheridan’s drama on Paramount+. Her role as the earnest, free-spirited teen figuring out life in Texas quickly caught fans’ attention after the series premiered in November 2024. The season two finale in January marked a series high for streaming rankings, with 1.77 billion viewing minutes on Paramount+ in the week leading up to its Jan. 18 finale. Randolph also appeared as Elizabeth Strafford in both seasons of Sheridan’s 1923 opposite Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. This time, however, the future is looking very different for Thornton’s Tommy Norris and his family, now that he’s going off on his own to start CTT Oil Exploration (and Cattle), an oil company named after and led by his family, and inner crew, after making a dangerous deal with cartel boss Gallino (Andy Garcia). “I love the metaphor of the coyote,” Thornton tells The Hollywood Reporter about the ending to co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace‘s mega-hit Paramount+ oil drama. “In that final scene, Tommy was thinking, ‘I know you’re there. [This story contains major spoilers from the penultimate episode of Landman season two, “Plans, Tears and Sirens.”] The penultimate episode of Landman season two ended on a violent cliffhanger when Cooper Norris, the aspiring oil man son to Billy Bob Thornton‘s starring oil fixer who is played by Jacob Lofland, entered the back alley of the bar where his 22-year-old fiancée, Ariana (Paulina Chavez), works and found her being sexually assaulted by a former, disorderly bar patron. Cooper arrived after the man had beaten Ariana nearly unconscious and as he was removing her clothes in an attempt to rape her. Cooper launched onto the man and severely beat him until Ariana’s boss arrived. The episode ended by showing that a security camera was capturing the incident in the alley, and the police had been called. “This season, there were some twists and turns that you did not see coming.
