Millionaire Big Game Hunter Trampled to Death by Elephants

Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech While big game hunting for food is an ancient practice, it’s more recently turned into a sport. It’s a contentious topic, with some arguing that big game hunting is key to ongoing conservation efforts, while others say it poses a critical threat to biodiversity, forcing certain species to extinction. It can also be extremely dangerous. Take Ernie Dosio, a 75-year-old millionaire who owned a California vineyard and who along with his guide was trampled to death by a group of five elephants while hunting antelope in Gabon, Africa. The schadenfreude on social media is hard to miss. “Oh dear, how sad,” wrote one user. “Hope the elephants didn’t hurt their feet.” But while it may sound like Dosio had it coming, a retired game hunter in Cape Town who said he knew him told the Daily Mail that he was a “very well-known and popular hunter in the US and in Africa and a very keen conservationist and …

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? contestant to win £1 million prize pot

ITV has announced that at least one contestant will win the £1 million prize pot in the upcoming season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. The 36th run of the iconic quiz show, which is set to begin later this month, will see not one but two contestants make it all the way to the final question. Top prize winners are extremely rare, with only six contestants in the show’s UK history having taken home the £1 million and only one winner since Jeremy Clarkson became host. We now know that number is about to grow to seven, but whether it also goes up to eight… viewers will just have to wait and see. ITV has also teased that the upcoming episodes will see one contestant dramatically lose £186,000 in a single moment, which marks one of the biggest losses in the show’s history. Details of the contestants are so far being kept under wraps. Want to see this content? This page contains content provided by Google reCAPTCHA. We ask for your permission before …

Inside L.A.’s world of millionaire ‘crypto kids,’ scammers and cops

Inside L.A.’s world of millionaire ‘crypto kids,’ scammers and cops

Daniel landed in Los Angeles with his girlfriend and a hard drive containing $350,000 in bitcoin. The 17-year-old’s lifestyle was intended to draw attention: Parties at the hottest clubs. Rented sports cars. Cuban link chains. Imitation Richard Mille watches. California is full of young people who were transformed into millionaires when crypto went mainstream. But Daniel didn’t just buy digital money when it was cheap and watch it skyrocket in value. He stole it. The teenager — who was identified only by his first name when he testified as a cooperating witness at a recent trial — was part of something called “the comm,” which federal authorities say was a loose network of con artists who treated defrauding investors of millions of dollars like a game. Holed up in lavish rental homes in Encino and Malibu, they hatched schemes to trick people into giving up access to crypto accounts with nine-figure balances. They gleefully screen-recorded some of the heists, prosecutors wrote in court documents charging them with racketeering, fraud and money laundering. For Daniel, a …

“Squatty Potty” Millionaire Charged With Possession Of Child Porn Hoard

Robert Edwards, the inventor of the “Squatty Potty” and a contestant on the show “Shark Tank”, has been charged with the possession of a digital hoard of child pornography materials including videos and images.  Edwards, 50, was arrested for allegedly buying and receiving countless images of child sexual abuse between March 2021 and November 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Utah announced Monday.  The entrepreneur was indicted by a federal grand jury Feb. 10 and arrested Feb. 12 in Washington County, Utah. In March 2021, an undercover FBI agent joined a group chat used to trade child abuse materials. In the group chat, there was a meeting room where members viewed a collection of the horrific content being streamed, federal authorities detailed.  Participants, including a user later identified as Edwards, were visible in the meeting, according to the DOJ.  In May 2025, FBI agents also learned that Edwards may have purchased additional illicit materials through his PayPal account, which was flagged for four suspicious transactions.  In November, law enforcement executed a search …

The original Epstein? FBI is holding thousands of files on Detroit millionaire and his sinister island

The original Epstein? FBI is holding thousands of files on Detroit millionaire and his sinister island

North Fox Island looks idyllic from the air – shaped like a teardrop, dense with forest and edged with sandy shores. It’s surrounded by the cold blue waters of Lake Michigan and located 19 miles off the coast of the Leelanau Peninsula. In the 1970s, the uninhabited island belonged to Francis “Frank” Shelden, a Detroit millionaire with a Yale degree, a prestigious family name, and a reputation as a philanthropist. Shelden bought the island from a widow for $20,000 and carved out an airstrip, dug miles of dirt trails, and built cabins deep into the woods. Transportation to and from the island was, and still is to this day, limited. The island – just two miles wide and one mile long – could have been considered paradise. But investigators later uncovered the island’s disturbing purpose – an elaborate child sexual abuse ring operating behind the front of a summer camp for disadvantaged boys. The only arrest was of Shelden’s co-conspirator, Gerald Richards. Richards was a gym teacher who moonlighted as a magician. The operation on …
