The RAC reported that the average price of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts jumped by 20p, from 132.8p on 1 March to 152.8p by the end of the month. Diesel drivers experienced an even steeper rise, with the average cost per litre soaring by 40p, from 142.4p to 182.8p, over the same period. These significant hikes eclipsed previous monthly records of 17p for petrol in June 2022 and 22p for diesel in March 2022, which occurred in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Despite last month’s record rises, average fuel prices are still below the all-time highs of summer 2022 when petrol peaked at 191.5p per litre and diesel at 199.0p per litre. How To Convert Your 401(k) Into A Reliable Monthly Paycheck

How To Convert Your 401(k) Into A Reliable Monthly Paycheck

Authored by Adam H. Douglas via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours), Yes, you can turn your 401(k) into a predictable monthly paycheck in retirement. The key is to move from the accumulation phase to a structured distribution strategy. Many retirees combine systematic withdrawals, dividend-producing investments, and guaranteed income sources such as annuities. Smart planning can turn your 401(k) balance into a predictable cash flow. Ladanifer/Shutterstock By balancing these tools and managing withdrawal rates carefully, you can convert a fluctuating retirement account balance into a steady income stream that helps cover monthly living expenses throughout retirement. Why the Distribution Phase Matters During your working years, your focus is simple: build the largest retirement account balance possible. Contributions, employer matches, and market growth drive the accumulation phase. Once you stop working, your 401(k) must shift from a growth vehicle into an income engine. Instead of asking, “How big is my account balance?” the better question becomes, “How much income can this generate each month?” Without a clear strategy, withdrawals can become inconsistent and risky. Market downturns early …

TL;DR: Instead of paying monthly, get a 100TB Internxt Cloud Storage Lifetime Subscription on sale for $850. $849.97 $9,900 Save $9,050.03   Paying monthly for cloud storage is only viable if you don’t want much space and you only intend to use it for a short time. If you need long-term bulk storage, try a platform like Internxt, who is now offering a 100TB lifetime subscription on sale for $849.97 (down from $9,900). Internxt is a private cloud storage platform with end-to-end encryption and zero-knowledge storage, so files are encrypted on your device, and only you have the keys. Your data is broken into smaller pieces, which makes it harder for anyone else to read, even if they had access to the servers. This platform is open source, GDPR compliant, and audited by Securitum, and it also includes post-quantum encryption, so …

Spotify Adds Record 38 Million Monthly Active Users

Spotify Adds Record 38 Million Monthly Active Users

Spotify reached 290 million paid subscribers in its fourth quarter, up 10 percent year over year.  Overall, monthly active users hit 751 million, an increase of 38 million, marking the highest number of net adds in Spotify’s history. Both users’ numbers were above Spotify’s guidance. The company attributed the growth in monthly active users to a successful Wrapped campaign, as well as enhancements to the free tier on mobile. Total revenue reached  €4.5 billion, in line with Spotify’s guidance, while operating income reached  €701 million, above expectations. Shares were up 10 percent in pre-market trading Tuesday.  Ad-supported revenue declined 4 percent year over year. Music advertising saw growth in impressions sold, but this was offset by softness in pricing. Podcasting growth grew sponsorships, but this was “partially offset by optimization of our podcasting inventory.”  The company now reports more than 530,000 video podcasts, as it continues its big push toward video. Spotify also features more than 500,000 audiobooks in English language markets. Spotify expects 759 million total monthly active users in the first quarter, up eight …

Consumer Credit Smashes All Estimates As Monthly Credit Card Debt Unexpectedly Surges By Most In 2 Years

Consumer Credit Smashes All Estimates As Monthly Credit Card Debt Unexpectedly Surges By Most In 2 Years

2025 closed with a surprising surge in consumer spending and retail sales, one which was unexpected since personal savings at the end of the year had just ground to a 3 year low… … which when coupled with stagnant earnings prompted the question just where did consumers get the money for December’s spending spree.  We now have the answer: at 3pm today, the Fed published the latest consumer credit data, and boy was it a doozy. After November’s tepid $4.2 billion increase in total consumer credit (which came in below estimates even after today’s revision to $4.7 billion), consensus was looking for a modest bounce to $8 billion, or well below the post-covid average. Instead, what the Fed reported was a stunner: consumer credit soared by a whopping $24.045 billion, the biggest monthly increase of 2025 by a wide margin (only Dec. 2024 was bigger going back all the way to 2023),.. … and not only was the number 3x higher than the median forecast, it came in above the highest economist forecast, in this …
