Motorola’s Razr Fold offers the one thing Samsung and Google foldables miss, at a lower price

Motorola’s Razr Fold offers the one thing Samsung and Google foldables miss, at a lower price

You can’t buy the highly anticipated Motorola Razr Fold yet, but I went hands-on with the upcoming foldable for the second time in as many months. That isn’t a humble brag, it’s a testament to just how long Motorola has spent teasing this phone. Motorola previewed its first book-style foldable at CES in January, then again at MWC in March, and once more this week at its own Razr 2026 series launch event in Los Angeles. If you’re tired of the drawn-out runway to the Razr Fold’s official launch date, I don’t blame you. I do come bearing good news — the Razr Fold is launching in the U.S. next month with a price tag that undercuts the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The wait is finally (almost) over. Motorola’s Razr Fold will be the third competitor to the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that North America desperately needs. It brings a taste of global foldable technology stateside, with a high-capacity silicon-carbon battery and an optional active stylus. The more …

Motorola’s New Razr Folding Phones Command a Higher Price and Few Upgrades

Motorola’s New Razr Folding Phones Command a Higher Price and Few Upgrades

Like clockwork, Motorola is back with a new set of Razr folding flip phones. The formula is the same as last year, with three phones differing in specs and price: the Razr Ultra, Razr+, and Razr. But alongside these models, Motorola is finally launching its first-ever book-style folding phone, the Razr Fold, which it first teased at CES 2026. The company announced the new handsets at an event in Los Angeles, where it also revealed a new pair of Moto Buds 2 Plus wireless earbuds that look eerily like Apple’s AirPods Pro, but in blue; these will retail for $150 and will be available on April 30. Sadly, all of Motorola’s folding flips are getting price increases, in line with what we’re seeing from competitors like Samsung. The Razr Ultra is $1,500, the Razr+ costs $1,100, and the Razr starts at $800—that’s a $200, $100, and $100 price bump over their predecessors, respectively. The new Razr Fold costs $1,900, landing between the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7. Preorders for all …

Motorola’s Souped-Up Folding Phone Is Almost Half Off

Motorola’s Souped-Up Folding Phone Is Almost Half Off

For a limited time, you can grab the Motorola Razr Ultra with 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of storage for just $700, a $600 discount from its usual price. It’s our favorite folding smartphone, with excellent performance, full-day battery life, and all the trappings you’d expect from a phone that doesn’t also fold in half. Photograph: Julian Chokkattu Photograph: Julian Chokkattu Photograph: Julian Chokkattu Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) While they may look similar to previous generations of Motorola Razr, there are quite a few under-the-hood improvements for the 2025 model. The Ultra model has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with 16 GB of memory, for super snappy performance in everyday use and while gaming. It has an upgrade 4,700-mAh battery, which our reviewer Julian Chokkattu found was easily able to make it through a full day of use with around a quarter of its charge left. If you’re a heavy user and find yourself running low often, there’s 68-watt wired charging and 30-watt Qi wireless charging support to bring you back …

Motorola’s 2026 Razr Ultra Needs These Features to Win Me Over

Motorola’s 2026 Razr Ultra Needs These Features to Win Me Over

Foldable phones may be niche, but Motorola’s Razr lineup stands out as a leader in the category. With fun colors, varied textures and that satisfying flip-phone snap, clamshell phones are a popular choice for people looking to get away from more predictable mobile designs. It’s likely we’ll see the next generation of Razr phones later this month, hopefully with some key upgrades that could help the devices stand out even more. The Razr Ultra is Motorola’s most premium clamshell offering. Last year’s model had a 4-inch cover display and a 7-inch internal display, two 50-megapixel rear cameras (as well as a 50-megapixel selfie camera) and a generous 4,700-mAh battery. As CNET’s Patrick Holland put it, the 2025 Ultra was also “flipping expensive,” at $1,300. But those first-rate features make it a worthy rival to Samsung’s $1,100 Galaxy Z Flip 7, another popular choice in the foldable phones space.  Motorola is doubling down on foldables with the imminent release of its first book-style phone, the Razr Fold. With a sleek design and an impressive 6,000-mAh battery, …

I can’t wait for Motorola’s GrapheneOS phones: Why they’re a win for privacy and open source

I can’t wait for Motorola’s GrapheneOS phones: Why they’re a win for privacy and open source

Bloomberg / Contributor / Bloomberg via Getty Images Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. ZDNET’s key takeaways In 2027, a major phone OEM will ship phones with a new open-source OS.  Security and privacy are the big selling points of Motorola’s GrapheneOS phones. Some users are concerned about Motorola’s Chinese ownership. Some people dislike Android and iOS because the platforms are controlled by major companies and lack privacy. For those folks, alternative operating systems — such as e/OS, the Free Software Foundation (FSF) LibrePhone, and the GrapheneOS Foundation‘s GrapheneOS — are attractive options. There’s just one problem. No major smartphone vendor sells handsets with these OSes preinstalled — until now.  At Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Motorola (a Lenovo company) announced a partnership with the GrapheneOS Foundation to deliver GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused Android fork, on future Motorola smartphones starting in 2027. Motorola’s Upcoming Razr Fold Pairs a Massive Battery With a Sleek Design

Motorola’s Upcoming Razr Fold Pairs a Massive Battery With a Sleek Design

Motorola is slowly teasing more details about its upcoming Razr Fold, including its battery capacity, thickness and durability. I got an early look at the phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, before it debuts in North America this summer. In January, the company shared a handful of Razr Fold specs, including that it’ll have a 6.6-inch external display and an 8.1-inch internal screen — making it slightly bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.  We now also know the Razr Fold will be 4.6mm thick when open and 9.9mm thick when closed, weighing 243 grams. That places it firmly between Samsung’s and Google’s foldable offerings.  In my hand, the Razr Fold felt similar to the Z Fold 7 in terms of its sleekness. The cover display is a comfortably and viable option for tasks like texting and scrolling. When you open the Razr, you can multitask with up to three apps. The incremental size-up compared with Samsung’s and Google’s foldables is hardly noticeable, but it should place …

Motorola’s new smartwatch keeps things simple, but power users may want more

Motorola’s new smartwatch keeps things simple, but power users may want more

ZDNET’s key takeaways The Moto Watch is currently on sale for $150. It’s a durable, comfortable fitness tracker with nearly 100 workout modes and long-lasting battery life. Its lack of third-party app support and basic feature set may leave power users wanting more. more buying choices Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. Last year, Motorola re-entered the smartwatch market after a long hiatus with the Moto Watch Fit. I didn’t get a chance to review it personally, but the overall response from critics and users online was largely positive. For 2026, the company followed up with a brand-new wearable simply called the Moto Watch. Also: The best cheap smartwatches of 2026: Expert tested and reviewed I’ve spent the past few weeks testing it, and I genuinely enjoyed my time with the smartwatch. To be totally …

Motorola’s new flagship phone looks amazing, but it has one glaring issue

Motorola’s new flagship phone looks amazing, but it has one glaring issue

Summary The Motorola Signature features a gorgeous design with a textured back inspired by twill and linen. The phone packs flagship specs, including a 6.8″ 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 16GB/512GB memory, a 5200mAh battery, and a four 50MP Sony cameras (one up front, three on the back). The Signature starts at €999 and will be available nearly everywhere but North America. Lately, Motorola has been known primarily for its Razr line of foldable devices. However, the company can still make a fantastic slab-style phone, too, and it’s out to prove it with the newly announced Motorola Signature. This phone is aimed at the high-end market as a direct challenger to other flagships from companies like OnePlus and Samsung. Unfortunately, the Motorola Signature does not appear to be coming to the US at this time. Moto has launches scheduled globally, starting with Europe, but North America is conspicuously absent from the list. This phone is gorgeous Seriously, look at this thing! Physically, the Motorola Signature really stands out, which isn’t something you …
