Industry’s Myha’la and Marisa Abela on Fighting, Friendship, and Platonic Kissing in the Club

Industry’s Myha’la and Marisa Abela on Fighting, Friendship, and Platonic Kissing in the Club

“We are old now,” Myha’la says with a smile to her Industry costar Marisa Abela on Zoom. Considering the fact that both actors are 29 years old, that sentiment is far from true. However, four seasons into the buzzy British banking drama, it does feel like we’re a long way from the early days of Industry when their respective characters, Harper Stern and Yasmin Kara-Hanani, were first-years on the trading floor at Pierpoint & Co, diving headfirst into the wild world of finance. In the penultimate episode of Industry’s fourth season, “Points of Emphasis,” Harper and Yas run through the gamut of human emotions. They begin the episode as business adversaries, hurling insults at one another, and end the episode as friends dancing till dawn in a perfect girl’s night out, sealed with a kiss—a fact that makes both actors giggle, recalling the shoot. For Abela, the club scene was both sentimental and nostalgic. “It felt like season one of Industry in that we’re just two girls dancing in a club,” she says. “It felt …

Ken Leung and Myha’la on Eric Exit, Trump Edited Out

Ken Leung and Myha’la on Eric Exit, Trump Edited Out

[This story contains major spoilers from season four, episode six of Industry, “Dear Henry.”] One thing that Industry has become known for — at least among the cast — is the fact that showrunners Mickey Down and Konrad Kay don’t give out the scripts ahead of the season. That means the HBO show’s actors often find themselves as shocked as the rest of us by the writer’s decisions. When Ken Leung and Myha’la started filming season four, they had no idea what fate would befall their characters, their friendship and their nascent fund SternTao. “When I read episode six, I was like ‘damn, they killed my bro,’” says Myha’la. In “Dear Henry,” Eric Tao’s (Leung) proverbial chickens come home to roost in a big way; just as the traders of SternTao are narrowing in on their takedown of banking app Tender and when it seems like its principles may finally get a little bit of what they want, Eric gets blackmailed out of the finance business altogether. “I literally was like, that’s crazy,” adds Myha’la, …

Anne Hathaway, Lana Del Rey, Myha’la and More: All the Celebrities at New York Fashion Week

On Tuesday afternoon, as the lights dimmed and Ralph Lauren’s Fall/Winter 2026 show was about to begin on the day before the official start of New York Fashion Week, one late arrival triggered a flurry of reporters storming back to the step-and-repeat. Anne Hathaway had taken her seat, Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector were there, as were Ariana DeBose and Lili Reinhart —who could it be? It was none other than the queen of Americana, Lana Del Rey, and her husband, Jeremy Dufrene. The night prior, Marc Jacobs hosted another off schedule show, effectively kicking off a week of runway shows, presentations and adjacent shindigings. At his front row sat the Industry star Myha’la, plus Julia Fox, Nicky Hilton, Joan Smalls, and more. The shows have only just started. Expect more starry names to pop up at Tory Burch, Coach, Calvin Klein Collection, Collina Strada, and more—and keep tabs on them here. Source link

Each is a sign of a new affirmation; a focus for her day ahead. The angel cards recently encouraged her to “sever vows of poverty”. “It’s about releasing yourself from a scarcity mindset and accepting that life is taking care of you, and that abundance belongs to you,” she tells me serenely, sipping on tea in a beige-hued Berlin hotel room. “It really soothes the soul for me.” Myha’la is calm, grounded and warm: poles apart from her Industry character, the impulsive, calculating and cold Harper Stern, whose morning routine more aptly begins with a line of cocaine and six caffeinated …
