‘The Elephant & Piggie Show’ Is an ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Reunion

If you liked The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and you really, really should have, then The Elephant & Piggie Show! may be for you. Or really, for your kids. Paramount+ announced Thursday that the voices of BFFs Elephant and Piggie will be played by former Kimmy Schmidt co-stars (and onscreen BFFs), Tituss Burgess and Ellie Kemper. In addition, Neil Patrick Harris will voice the bus driver role in The Pigeon Show! Starring The Pigeon. It is pretty solid casting for preschool shows — then again, the Elephant & Piggie and the Pigeon books are pretty solid for preschool books. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, well, you probably do not have young children — or maybe you’re reading them the wrong books. Both Paramount+ series are adaptations of Mo Willems‘ New York Times best-selling children’s books. The pigeon of The Pigeon has his own books, and pops up in the Elephant & Piggie ones as well. James Norton and Bella Ramsey’s Sunny Dancer has received rave reviews following its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. The Happy Valley and The Last of Us actors star as father and daughter in the British comedy-drama, which focuses on a teen who attends a summer camp after beating cancer. Written and directed by George Jaques, the film also boasts a cast including How I Met Your Mother‘s Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Gunning, Ruby Stokes and Daniel Quinn-Toye, as well as singer James Blunt playing himself. Neil Patrick Harris was joined by his teenage daughter Harper Grace, 15, for a rare family outing that instantly caught fans’ attention, with the proud dads beaming as they posed together on the blue carpet at the 10th annual Blue Jacket Fashion Show.  The How I Met Your Mother star looked effortlessly polished in a relaxed black shirt, keeping his signature style understated while letting the moment shine.
