Climate Organization Behind Anti-ICE Protests Is Leading May 1 School Walkout Plan, Parent Group Reports

Authored by Aaron Gifford via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours), One of the main organizations behind the recent protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations is encouraging children to walk out of class en masse next month to help promote its agenda, which includes achieving what it said are “Eco-socialism, [a] multi-racial democracy, and Green New Deal legislation,” according to a April 8 report by representatives of parent group Defending Education. Organized by the Sunrise Movement, hundreds of young climate activists march to the White House to demand that U.S. President Joe Biden work to make the Green New Deal into law in Washington, DC, on June 28, 2021. EFF is the latest organization to leave X

X’s decline in engagement and its ability to drive traffic is the topic du jour, with several days of bad PR for the Elon Musk-owned social network. Over the weekend, X’s head of product, Nikita Bier, and data analyst Nate Silver, previously of FiveThirtyEight, feuded over whether or not X was still capable of sending traffic to publishers. This was followed by a report from NiemanLab on Wednesday, which suggested that adding links to X posts is bad for engagement. On Thursday, the prominent digital rights group and nonprofit EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) announced it, too, was leaving X after seeing decreasing returns from its posts. After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue. 🧵(1/5) — EFF (@EFF) April 9, 2026 In a blog post, EFF’s social media manager, Kenyatta Thomas, said that leaving X after almost 20 years on the platform wasn’t “a decision we made lightly,” but explained that the math no longer works out in …

You don’t need a gym to build strength, says the world’s largest exercise science organization

You may have heard about the benefits of home workouts, but are they actually as effective as going to the gym? Well, according to new research, they absolutely are. In fact, you apparently don’t need a gym membership at all to build strength. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) – which is the largest sports medicine organisation in the world – recently updated its training guidelines for the first time in 17 years. According to a review of data from over 30,000 participants, non-traditional training, including resistance bands, bodyweight exercises and home-based routines can help you build strength, promote hypertrophy and improve physical function. Article continues below You may like The overall takeaway from the review is that doing anything is much, much better than doing nothing. “The best resistance training program is the one you’ll actually stick with,” concluded Stuart M. Phillips an author on the review and a professor of kinesiology. Rather than recommending a specific form of exercise, researchers suggest that doing any type of resistance training twice a week is …

People Who Are Irrationally Irritated By Clutter & Dirty Dishes Usually Have 11 Specific Personality Traits

Clutter and dirty dishes might seem like a minor annoyance, but for some people, they can trigger a surprisingly strong emotional reaction. Psychology professor Joseph Ferrari has pointed out that visual chaos in our homes can create unnecessary stress, especially in a culture where many households are surrounded by more stuff than ever before. Between work, family responsibilities, and daily obligations, keeping everything organized can quickly start to feel overwhelming. But people who are irrationally irritated by clutter and dirty dishes often tend to share specific personality traits that make them more sensitive to their surroundings. Whether they’re naturally detail-oriented, highly disciplined, or easily overstimulated by visual mess, clutter can feel far more stressful to them than it does to the average person. These personality traits help explain why some people simply can’t relax when dishes pile up in the sink. People who are irrationally irritated by clutter and dirty dishes usually have these 11 specific personality traits: 1. They’re incredibly sensitive India Picture | Shutterstock.com According to a study published in Scientific Reports, people with …

The topic? Health emergencies all over the world. For years, the U.S. federal government participated in these calls, which are organized by the World Health Organization. Now, as the Trump administration says it has withdrawn from WHO over its handling of COVID, among other things, California is stepping in. It is the first state to join WHO’s Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network, also known as GOARN. Dr. Erica Pan, director of the California Department of Public Health, says she’s been in touch with other states hoping to follow suit. Illinois, in a press release, said …

People Who Never Seem Frazzled Usually Do These 5 Things Before 10 A.M. | Diane Quintana

Are you feeling out of sorts? You know, sort of blah? Well, you’ve probably already realized that you are not alone. Many of us are feeling that way right now. One day sort of blends into the next. There is not a whole lot to distinguish one day from another. Some people seem to glide through their days with calm, Monk-like energy, while the rest of us are scrambling to catch up. The difference often comes down to what happens in those first few hours of the morning. These five simple habits take less than 10 minutes each, but they set up the entire day for success. People who never seem frazzled do these 5 things before 10 am: 1. They make their bed Set your alarm, get up, and get moving. Recently, I read a fabulous little book called Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven. He asserts that when you start your day by making your bed, you have accomplished one task. Even if this is the only task you accomplish in the …

Trump’s HHS Trashes Top African Health Organization as “Fake” and “Powerless”

Illustration by Tag Hartman-Simkins / Futurism. Source: Chip Somodevilla / Getty Images Last week, we broke down a major debacle unfolding in the health research space. To recap: over the past month, concerned researchers have been sounding the alarm about a reprehensible vaccine study which was to be funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to the tune of $1.6 million. According to the trial protocols, obtained by Inside Medicine writer and physician Jeremy Faust from an anonymous American employee at the US Center for Disease Control (US CDC), the research would have followed 14,000 infants in the West African nation of Guinea-Bissau. The problem? Only 7,000 of those newborns would have received an urgently needed hepatitis B vaccine, in order to compare the two groups. On top of the flagrant ethics violations, the total cost of the research would have exceeded the cost to pay for “over a decade’s worth of Hepatitis B vaccine birth doses [for everyone] in Guinea-Bissau.” In their interview with Faust, the unnamed CDC employee …
