The Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans were recalled Thursday. When announcing the recall, the Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that the metal cap on the screw that connects the pan to the handle can detach and “forcefully eject” when heated. The commission said this can cause burns to the consumer. New York-based E Mishan & Sons, Inc., which imports the pans, has received nearly 100 reports of the cap becoming detached and ejecting from the pan. When I was first coming into adulthood — not the cafeteria-and-burrito version, where the majority of dinners would be acquired in foil and eaten while walking — but the quieter, more accounting-minded phase, when you begin to wonder whether the utility bill can be staggered and how many meals can reasonably be coaxed from a bag of rice, the sheet pan dinner was ascendant. I love cooking hacks and shortcuts, but only when they don’t sacrifice the final result. Microwave-poached eggs and reverse-seared steak are two such examples. More recently, I discovered a bacon-making trick, and now it’s the only way I’ll cook the stuff.   Bacon isn’t difficult to cook, thanks to all that delicious fat running through it. TOKYO, March 5 : Japanese memory chipmaker Kioxia and Pan Pacific International Holdings, which has major discount retailer Don Quijote under its wing, will be added to Japan’s Nikkei from April, the publisher of the stock average said on Thursday. As part of a regular reshuffle of the benchmark gauge, battery manufacturer GS Yuasa and calculator maker Casio Computer will be removed, publisher Nikkei said. Kioxia and Pan Pacific International are expected to give a boost to the key benchmark index that had climbed to record highs in February 2026, but momentum was dented as the Middle East conflict intensified. Kioxia, the Bain-backed chipmaker, has seen its shares rise more than 12-fold since its market debut in December 2024. Pan Pacific International shares have risen 9.8 per cent so far this year. NSO Group, one of the most well-known and controversial makers of government spyware, released a new transparency report on Wednesday, as the company enters what it described as “a new phase of accountability.” But the report, unlike NSO’s previous annual disclosures, lacks details about how many customers the company rejected, investigated, suspended, or terminated due to human rights abuses involving its surveillance tools. While the report contains promises to respect human rights and have controls to demand its customers do the same, the report provides no concrete evidence supporting either.  Experts and critics who have followed NSO and the spyware market for years believe the report is part of an effort and campaign by the company to get the U.S. government to remove the company from a blocklist — technically called the Entity List — as it hopes to enter the U.S. market with new financial backers and executives at the helm.
