Detective shows are police procedurals are a dime a dozen, and many of them are extremely good. You may think that you’ve seen all there is to see when it comes to cops, robbers, and the sometimes blurry line between the two. But that’s when you have to broaden your horizons a little bit. There are crime dramas from around the world that rival anything Hollywood has ever put out, and one of the best is available to watch for the low price of zero dollars on the free streaming service Plex. Spiral is the best crime drama you’ve never heard of The dark side of the City of Light Spiral is a French series that ran for an impressive eight seasons on Canal+, from 2005 to 2021. Some of the main cast stuck around for the whole of that time, including Caroline Proust as Laure Berthaud, a Paris police officer and the head of a special investigation team; Thierry Godard as Gilles “Gilou” Escoffier, a loose canon who works under Berthaud; and Audrey Fleurot …

I changed 3 settings in Plex and my streams immediately stopped buffering

In the past, I’ve sat down to watch something on Plex, only to be met with endless buffering — and it turns out I’m not alone. A quick check on Reddit revealed scores of posts dating back years seeking help with this very issue. Plex has a free streaming service most users don’t know about

I use Plex all the time. My partner uploads content like movies to our personal media server, accessible through the Apple TV app. We also have access to libraries from friends who share theirs so I can watch the content they have. We have the lifetime subscription, which affords the ability to stream content, download offline, and more. Meanwhile, friends can download the Plex app, get an invite for our server, and access our content. But Plex offers much more than that, including free streaming that anyone can access without paying a dime, needing an invite, or even signing up. Plex is a cross-platform media streaming service, but it’s also a free ad-supported streaming service, also known as FAST. Plex offers on-demand movies, TV shows, and even live channels that are available to access without a subscription. So many people use Plex for a set-up like mine with a server. But there’s a lot more you can do without any setup or subscription at all. Related I Wish I’d Known These 5 Tips Before I …
