Mammotion Spino E1 Review: A Budget Pool Bot That Comes Up Short

Mammotion Spino E1 Review: A Budget Pool Bot That Comes Up Short

The robot uses Bluetooth to communicate with your phone and uses 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi to connect directly to your home network for over-the-air updates (but not real-time management). Onboarding requires connecting to a temporary network on the device and bridging it to your home network, a quick process that gave me no trouble during setup. Firmware updates will likely be available, but note you’ll need to check the Device Information menu for them. Mammotion didn’t proactively push or suggest any updates during my testing, and these over-the-air updates often required multiple attempts to install successfully. The app is decidedly limited, allowing you to select from the standard four operating modes and make a few small additional adjustments, including configuring the maximum speed of the robot and opting into a couple of beta features. These include a “Turbo Cleaning” mode that increases the power of the suction at the expense of battery life, and an option to improve the way the unit cleans steps and platforms. (Why this feature isn’t always on is a mystery.) Leaves Left …

‘I’ve been in a swimming pool zero times since retiring’

‘I’ve been in a swimming pool zero times since retiring’

Alistair Brownlee was the first athlete ever to defend the Olympic triathlete title. Over an 18-year career, he claimed gold at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games, as well as 22 World Series events, two World Championships, a Commonwealth title and four European Championships, to name only a few. Two years into retirement, Brownlee shows little sign of slowing down. When he’s not working with his brother Jonny on the Brownlee Foundation – their charity encouraging young people into sport – he’s focused on his own business, Truefuels, which sells energy gels and electrolytes. It’s hard to reconcile all this with the unassuming man who strolls into our office alone on a Thursday in March. It’s not the first time the point has been made. In 2021, he told The Telegraph that he was once told that he’s “an inspiration because he looks so normal it makes everyone think that if he can do it, they could too”. I caught up with him for our Readers Ask series, where industry specialists answer questions …

Army reviewing after helicopters hovered alongside Kid Rock’s swimming pool as he saluted : NPR

FILE – Kid Rock comes on stage to speak and introduce Vice President JD Vance during a visit to Fort Campbell, Ky., Nov. 26, 2025. John Amis/AP hide caption toggle caption John Amis/AP NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Army has launched an administrative review after two AH-64 Apache helicopters on a training run hovered near the hillside home of Kid Rock as the outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump saluted their crews. Kid Rock posted two videos on social media on Saturday. Each shows a helicopter hovering alongside his swimming pool while the entertainer claps, salutes and raises his fist in the air. The Nashville skyline can be seen in the background. “This is a level of respect,” Kid Rock posted, that the “Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.” California Gov. Gavin Newsom is a Democrat who has repeatedly sparred with the Republican president. There was no official request to the Army from Kid Rock for the helicopters to come to …

AI Artificial Intelligence Review Part 3: Out of the Pool and Into the Woods

AI Artificial Intelligence Review Part 3: Out of the Pool and Into the Woods

In the previous review, David’s “brother” had woken up, and the sibling rivalry had begun. A series of mishaps ensues, culminating in the contrived pool scene, but before addressing the unfortunate party, I’d like to mention that during the rivalry segment, it becomes apparent that Teddy is more sentient than David. There’s no reason for this within the story, but it seems like Spielberg is wanting Teddy to serve as a soulless Jiminy Cricket for David. This doesn’t really work for multiple reasons, but the most obvious problem in the beginning is that this toy bear is an earlier model of an AI, and it’s not even on par with the other robots in the script. So, there’s no real reason for Teddy to grab the mother’s hair. This event becomes important to the story later on, but this grabbing of the hair is really a plot hole because if the robot has no real investment in David as it ought, then it shouldn’t pick up the hair, but if it does have feelings of concern for David, then it shouldn’t …

Wall Street Bonus Pool Hits Record Despite “Domestic And International Upheavals”

Wall Street Bonus Pool Hits Record Despite “Domestic And International Upheavals”

As the K-shaped economy rages on, gasoline and diesel prices at the pump spike, and risks of food inflation later this year mount, Wall Street’s bonus pool surged to a record in 2025, even as the Trump administration insists the inflationary shock is temporary. On Thursday, New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released a new report showing that the Wall Street bonus pool surged to a record $49.2 billion in 2025, up 9% from the previous year, while the average bonus rose 6% to $246,900. “Wall Street saw strong performance for much of last year, despite all of the ongoing domestic and international upheavals,” DiNapoli said. Bloomberg noted, “The total pool is the largest in records going back to 1987.” DiNapoli continued, “When Wall Street does well, it’s good for our state and city budgets, which are reliant on the industry’s significant tax contributions.” Wall Street bankers entered 2026 with momentum after generating a record $134 billion in trading revenue last year.  Top executives expect dealmaking and trading revenue to remain strong this year, but …

Aiper Scuba V3 Pool Robot Review: Eye on the Prize

Aiper Scuba V3 Pool Robot Review: Eye on the Prize

The app also includes access to two scheduled operational modes for those who would like to leave the robot in the pool, including a calendar-based mode with three frequency levels—90 minutes x 2, 60 minutes x 3, or 45 minutes x 4. The other mode is a bit of a letdown: The so-called AI Navium mode sounds like it uses the AI camera to periodically survey the pool over the course of a week and perform a routine cleaning only when required—but in reality, this mode merely performs a quick analysis of your previous runs and then uses AI to create a schedule for the next few days, based on how you’ve used the robot in the past. Hungry for Gunk Video: Chris Null The Scuba V3 made fairly quick work of debris in my pool during test runs, rarely needing more than a couple of hours to scoop up all visible detritus on the pool floor while also scrubbing the walls and waterline. The AI camera system does seem to work as advertised, even locating …

iGarden M1 Pro Max 100 Review: A Sports Car for Your Pool

iGarden M1 Pro Max 100 Review: A Sports Car for Your Pool

iGarden’s claims of providing 10 hours of running time in floor-only mode were accurate in my testing; however, I achieved only about seven hours of operation in the more power-intensive full coverage mode. That’s still plenty of juice for two or three full cleanings before a recharge is needed. Officially, iGarden specs the robot to clean pools of up to 1,274 square feet in size. I was less enamored with the cleanup process after operations were complete, and not just because the robot must be retrieved with a pole instead of coming to the surface when done. The filter basket is plenty large, but it can only be accessed through a relatively small hatch. It’s tough to get all the debris out through this hatch by hosing it down, particularly since the shape of the basket includes a kind of shelf on the inside, where debris is both hard to reach and hard to see. A more open basket design or a larger hatch would be a huge help come cleanup time. Photograph: Chris Null …

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s rarely-seen secret swimming pool at Royal Lodge

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s rarely-seen secret swimming pool at Royal Lodge

Before Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor relocated to Norfolk, he was the long-term resident of Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, a sprawling Grade-II listed Georgian mansion boasting over 30 bedrooms and 98 acres of land.  Signing a 75-year lease in 2003, the brother of King Charles called the palatial property his home for over 20 years and shared the space with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, before he was evicted and had his titles stripped last November by his sibling.  The former prince, Andrew, is currently staying at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate while he waits for the completion of renovations on Marsh Farm, his soon-to-be permanent residence, also on the privately owned royal land.  Back down south, many aspects of the Windsor-based palatial property stand out; however, it is the existence of a swimming pool that formed the basis of many a royal memory as the late Queen’s mother enjoyed the grounds during the summer months with her young family.  Rarely photographed, the only pictures available of the secret swimming pool are from the 1940s in …
