Kanye West Postpones France Concert Amid Possible Ban

Kanye West has gone ahead and postponed his show in France as leadership continued to weigh banning the rapper from entering the country. “After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice,” West, who now goes by Ye, wrote on X Tuesday night. He was initially scheduled to perform on June 11 in Marseille at Stade Vélodrome as part of his 2026 comeback tour. The Hollywood Reporter reported earlier Tuesday that France was looking to potentially ban the “Flashing Lights” artist from performing in the country. Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan and French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez argued that West has no place in the French country following his past antisemitic remarks and for releasing a song last year called “Heil Hitler.” Related Stories This came after the artist was barred from entering the United Kingdom shortly after being announced as the headliner for all three nights of Wireless Festival in July. Kanye West postpones concert indefinitely – a week after UK ban | Ents & Arts News

Kanye West has postponed a concert in France – a week after he was denied a visa to perform at Wireless Festival in the UK. On X, the rapper wrote: “After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.” West was due to perform at the Marseille Velodrome on 11 June, but the gig had faced a growing backlash because of his history of antisemitic comments. Earlier in the week, French interior minister Laurent Nunez had told Politico he was “very determined” to prevent the show from going ahead. And back in March, Marseille mayor Benoit Payan said he would refuse to let the city “be a showcase for those who promote hatred and unapologetic Nazism”. Iran denies talks with US after Trump postpones strikes on power grid

The IRGC said late on Monday it targeted several Israeli cities, including Dimona and Tel Aviv and a number of US bases. It said it was “negotiating” with the “aggressors through impact-focused operations”. Israel’s military said it had detected missiles launched from Iran on Monday night for the first time since Trump’s earlier comments, and at least one interception blast was heard from Jerusalem. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video statement that he spoke with Trump on Monday and that Israel would press on with attacks in Lebanon and Iran. But Netanyahu said Trump believed there was a possibility of “leveraging the mighty achievements obtained by the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) and the US military, in order to realise the goals of the war in a deal – a deal that will preserve our vital interests.” Although there was no immediate confirmation that talks had taken place as described by Trump, Iran’s foreign ministry described initiatives to reduce tensions. It said Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi reviewed developments related to the Strait …

Trump Postpones His China Trip to Focus on the War in Iran

Trump said Tuesday while meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin in the Oval Office that he would be going to China in five or six weeks’ time instead of at the end of the month. He said he would be “resetting” his visit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. “We’re working with China — they were fine with it,” Trump said. “I look forward to seeing President Xi. He looks forward to seeing me, I think.” Trump’s visit to China is seen as an opportunity to build on a fragile trade truce between the two superpowers, but it has become tangled in his effort to find an endgame to the war in Iran. Soon after pressing China and other nations to send warships to secure access to Middle Eastern oil over the weekend, Trump indicated his travel plans depended on Beijing’s response, though he added Tuesday that the U.S. didn’t need help from the allies who rebuffed his request. In a Sunday interview with the Financial Times, Trump said he wanted to know whether Beijing …
