Pete Hegseth Quotes ‘Pulp Fiction’ During Prayer Service

Pete Hegseth Quotes ‘Pulp Fiction’ During Prayer Service

In a move that seems indicative of the Trump administration’s increasingly fractured relationship with the Vatican, Pete Hegseth appeared to mistake lines from a classic crime film for Scripture during a public appearance this week. The defense secretary delivered a prayer during a livestreamed worship service at the Pentagon on Wednesday. “They call it CSAR 25:17, which I think is meant to reflect Ezekiel 25:17,” he said in his introduction of the prayer he’d been given. However, viewers quickly noticed his words more closely echoed one of Samuel L. Jackson’s monologues from 1994’s “Pulp Fiction” than the biblical verse he’d referenced. “The path of the downed aviator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men,” Hegseth said in part. “Blessed is he who, in the name of camaraderie and duty, shepherds the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who …

Hegseth shares air rescue group’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ prayer at Pentagon service

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday repeated an air rescue group’s prayer that borrows from a scene in Quentin Tarantino’s film “Pulp Fiction.” During a Pentagon service, Hegseth said the prayer — called CSAR 25:17, an apparent reference to Ezekiel 25:17 in the Bible — was recited during a mission to recover the pilot of… Source link

Senate Democrat says Trump ‘needs a lot of prayer’

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) said in an interview that aired on Easter Sunday that he prays for President Trump, adding that he “needs a lot of prayer.” The Georgia senator, a Baptist pastor, confirmed to Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” that he “absolutely” prays for Trump because “he has influence and power over people I… Source link

Say a Prayer for This Startup That’s Replacing Its Developers With OpenClaw

Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech OpenClaw fever is still going strong in tech circles. The open source AI agent, much hyped for “actually doing things,” has been embraced by many programmers to automate parts of their workflow. But could they be automating themselves out of a job? That’s not a possibility that seems to bother the co-founders of the Silicon Valley startup JustPaid, who brag they’ve used OpenClaw to create an entire software engineering team made of seven fully autonomous AI agents. That’s what’s they’re claiming, at any rate. Vinay Pinnaka, a cofounder and the company’s chief technology officer, told The Wall Street Journal that they built the agents by combining OpenClaw’s capabilities with Anthropic’s AI coding tool Claude Code. OpenClaw functions as the “brain that decides what needs to happen,” and Claude Code is “the hands that do the coding work,” he explained. The non-human helpers, in just a month since being deployed, have built ten major features, each of which would’ve …

Tory Frontbencher Branded 'Racist P***k' By MP As Backlash Grows To Muslim Prayer Tweet

Tory Frontbencher Branded 'Racist P***k' By MP As Backlash Grows To Muslim Prayer Tweet

Shadow justice secretary Nick Timothy. A Tory frontbencher has been accused of sounding “like a racist prick” as the backlash grows to his social media post about Muslim group prayer. Shadow justice secretary Nick Timothy attacked an open-air ceremony which took place in central London on Tuesday. Among those who took part were Labour mayor Sadiq Khan, who is Muslim. In a post on X on Tuesday, Timothy said: “Too many are too polite to say this. But mass public prayer in public places is an act of domination.” His comments were welcomed by far-right agitator Tommy Robinson. At prime minister’s questions on Wednesday, Keir Starmer called on Kemi Badenoch to sack Timothy from the shadow cabinet. He said: “If he were in my team, he’d be gone. It’s utterly appalling. She should denounce his comments and she should sack him.” Lib Dem MP Josh Babarinde also hit out at Timothy on X. He said: “Too many are too polite to say this. But you sound like a racist prick. Praised by Tommy Robinson, too. You …

Fewer than half of Americans say religion is ‘very important’ in their lives

Fewer than half of Americans say religion is ‘very important’ in their lives

(RNS) — President Donald Trump has repeatedly encouraged more religion in the public square. “We’re bringing back religion in our country, and we’re bringing it back quickly and strongly,” Trump said at a National Day of Prayer event last year. Many federal departments have held prayer services or Bible studies. Trump created a task force to eradicate anti-Christian bias, and his Supreme Court appointees continue to deliver for Christian conservatives and their allies. But according to a new Gallup Poll, there’s been no significant change in the importance of religion to Americans and church attendance continues to decline. RELATED: Defense Secretary Hegseth tests Constitution in Pentagon worship services The percentage of Americans who say religion is “very important” in their lives has leveled off at 47% in 2025. (It’s been up or down 1 percentage point since 2021.) Religious service attendance reveals a picture of steady decline. A majority of U.S. residents — 57% — say they rarely or never attend religious services. (By comparison, in 1992, only 42% said they rarely or never attend …

Hacked Prayer App Sends ‘Surrender’ Messages to Iranians Amid Israeli Strikes

Hacked Prayer App Sends ‘Surrender’ Messages to Iranians Amid Israeli Strikes

Residents across Tehran and other Iranian cities were jolted awake by sounds of loud explosions in the early hours of Saturday morning, as Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran. The attacks, which the US and Israel are calling “preemptive strikes,” come after a period of failed negotiations between the countries, and on the heels of mass protests in Iran earlier this year that saw the death of at least 3,117 civilians, according to government statistics. Shortly after the first set of explosions, Iranians received bursts of notifications on their phones. They came not from the government advising caution, but from an apparently hacked prayer-timing app called ‘BadeSaba Calendar’ that has been downloaded more than 5 million times from the Google Play Store. The messages arrived in quick succession over a period of 30 minutes, starting with the phrase ‘Help Has Arrived’ at 9:52 am Tehran time, shortly after the first set of explosions. No party has claimed responsibility for the hacks. Screenshots shared with WIRED Middle East show messages urging Iranian military …
