Prince Albert and rarely-seen son Alexandre Grimaldi, 22, attend tennis tournament separately

On 11 April, at the prestigious Monte Carlo tennis tournament, an unprecedented and, to say the least, somewhat strange situation unfolded. It wasn’t unusual to see Prince Albert at the Country Club enjoying one of the matches played on clay, but it was truly surprising that his son, Alexandre Grimaldi, was also there. They weren’t seen together at any point, so it’s understood that they arrived separately, and it’s also unknown whether they had any contact while at the venue. Monaco’s Rose Ball 2026: See All The Looks

Monaco’s house of Grimaldi commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Rose Ball Saturday, with an event that looked to the future. Under the creative direction of Christian Louboutin, the royal family of Monaco and their hundreds of guests celebrated the gala’s historic landmark with a meal in a lavish spaceship, where the sparkle of silver dresses and laser projections lived up to the venue name, the Sporting Club de Monte Carlo’s Hall of Stars. As is tradition, Princess Caroline presided over the evening surrounded by her children: in this case, Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo, and Alexandra of Hanover and longtime companion Ben-Sylvester Strautmann. Princess Charlène was also in attendance at the Rose Ball, by the side of Prince Albert. Also among the guests were Princess Akiko of Mikasa, a cousin of Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and member of the imperial family of Japan, and Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece. Source link

Princess Charlene, Prince Albert and their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella made a rare family appearance at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan over the weekend.  The Monaco royal family wrapped up warm on Sunday to watch the skeleton mixed team competition, donning beanie hats and ski jackets to observe the action at the Cortina Sliding Centre.  Eleven-year-old twins Jacques and Gabriella were clearly making the most of their school holidays, grinning from ear to ear as they cheered on the athletes, having earlier attended the women’s curling tournament.   The outing also made for a special occasion for their parents, who famously went public with their relationship during the opening ceremony of the Turin Games in 2006. It made for a romantic full-circle moment for Charlene and Albert, returning to the Winter Games 20 years later with their children on Valentine’s weekend.   © Alamy Stock Photo Princess Charlene, Prince Albert and twins Jacques and Gabriella made sure to layer up for the freezing temperatures at the Cortina Sliding Centre. © Alamy Stock …

What the Royal Families of Europe Eat During Christmas

What the Royal Families of Europe Eat During Christmas

During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, English royal holiday banquets were stacked with countless dishes, with a heavy emphasis on expensive meats. According to Louise Cooling’s A Royal Christmas, 30 oxen, 100 sheep, five boars, nine dozen fowls, salted venison, salmon, lampreys (an eel-like fish) and 19 large wine casks were procured for King Henry III of England’s Christmas at Woodstock Palace in 1264. Mincemeat pies, crane, swan, brawn (terrine made with a pig’s head and served with mustard), goose and lamprey pie, and even porpoise (served dressed with vinegar and breadcrumbs) were all popular holiday fare. A boar’s head, presented on a platter, was often the first dish of the feast. “After a flourish of trumpets it was carried into the banqueting hall, by the server, on a gold or silver dish,” the Nottinghamshire Guardian reported in 1900. “A procession followed, consisting of nobles, knights, and ladies singing a joyous carol.” Peacocks were also considered a delicacy in medieval feasts; their colorful feathers proudly displayed. “The bird was first skinned, and the feathered …
