How handcuffed Prisoner stars built “organic and real chemistry”

How handcuffed Prisoner stars built “organic and real chemistry”

Being handcuffed to someone for four months doesn’t exactly sound like a walk in the park for the closest of people, but when it comes to a brand new co-lead that you also have to act alongside and perform stunts with? Well, that certainly sounds like a challenge. That’s how things played out for co-leads Izuka Hoyle (Big Boys) and Tahar Rahim (The Serpent) as they filmed Prisoner, Sky’s latest thriller series that comes from Hostage writer Matt Charman. But how did being cuffed together impact the role, if at all? When chatting exclusively with Radio Times, Hoyle revealed: “Definitely, it added another level of challenge, but also like intimacy – and quick, right? Because Tahar and I, we met at stunt rehearsals. We didn’t have an introduction before that so we literally said hello to each other and then we were cuffed. “But luckily, we really, really get on. And you know, I think it shows in the chemistry between the characters because we built such an organic and real chemistry between each other. …

BAGHDAD — The Iran-backed militia that kidnapped U.S. journalist Shelly Kittleson in Baghdad released her Tuesday in a prisoner swap with Iraq, Iraqi officials said. “In appreciation of the national positions of the outgoing Prime Minister, we have decided to release the American detainee, Shelly Kittleson, on the condition that she leaves the country immediately,” Abu Mujahid al-Assaf, a security official with Kataib Hezbollah, wrote on Telegram. “This initiative will not be repeated again in the coming days. We are in a state of war resembling that imposed by the American enemy against Islam, and in such situations, many considerations are set aside.” Source link

Cuba begins prisoner release after announcing more than 2,000 pardoned

Cuban authorities began to free prisoners on Friday after announcing it would pardon 2,010 inmates, the second release in less than a month as it faces heightened US pressure. More than 20 inmates came out of La Lima penitentiary in east Havana, holding their release papers, crying and hugging relatives who had been waiting for them all morning, AFP journalists said. “Thank you for this opportunity that they gave us,” said Albis Gainza, 46, who had served half of a six-year sentence for robbery. He said he could not sleep after learning he would be released. “This needs to keep going … (and) more are released,” Gainza told AFP. The Cuban government announced late Thursday that it would pardon 2,010 prisoners as a “humanitarian and sovereign gesture” to mark Holy Week. It did not link it to talks with the United States, but the move came days after US President Donald Trump eased a de facto oil blockade of Cuba by allowing a Russian tanker to deliver crude to the fuel-starved island. Ukraine, Russia free 200 POWs each in first part of prisoner swap

A released prisoner of war wrapped in a Ukrainian national flag walks past families holding portraits of their missing or captured relatives, upon his arrival following a prisoner exchange in the Chernygiv region on March 5, 2026, amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. GENYA SAVILOV / AFP Ukraine and Russia each freed 200 prisoners of war on Thursday, the first part of an exchange that will see them swap 500 people each in total, officials said. The two sides agreed to the exchange during talks in Geneva last month, both sides said. Prisoner swaps are one of the few areas of cooperation between the warring countries. “Today, 200 Ukrainian families received the most-awaited message – their loved ones are coming home,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media. Video shared by Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets showed servicemen leaving buses, wrapped in Ukrainian flags and shouting “Glory to Ukraine!”, as well as embracing those who came to welcome them. Among those freed were Ukrainian soldiers captured in 2022, including some who fought in …

Charles Bronson: Britain’s ‘most notorious prisoner’ pledges to ‘expose unlawful sentence’ ahead of parole hearing | UK News

The Parole Board has confirmed Charles Bronson’s latest bid for release will progress to an oral hearing in the coming months, where he could be invited to make his plea for freedom. The decision is a hopeful development for one of Britain’s longest-serving and most notorious prisoners, and means a fuller examination of his eligibility for release will now take place. Bronson, 73, has spent more than five decades in custody. He was first jailed in 1974 for armed robbery. Repeated violence and hostage-taking then resulted in his sentence being increased to life. But after 12 years without a violent conviction, this is now his ninth attempt to seek parole. Image: A court sketch by Elizabeth Cook of Bronson during a previous parole hearing. Pic: PA In a letter to Sky News, Bronson wrote: “I am 23 years over my tariff. I am forever denied progress. I am forever kept in solitary. They won’t even take me off Cat A.” He went on: “I have to expose this unlawful sentence and treatment. It’s now gone on …

‘Violent’ prisoner due for deportation escapes custody for second time in a week | UK News

A “violent” prisoner with gang affiliations who is due for deportation is on the run for the second time in a week, Sky News understands.  Police are hunting for Daniel Boakye after he escaped from police custody in a hospital in Lewisham, south London. Boakye, 21, had been serving time at HMP Feltham for robbery charges. He is understood to be violent, has gang connections, and is due for deportation to Ghana. He had already gone missing after freeing himself from prison custody at West Middlesex University Hospital in the early hours of 10 February. The prison service said at the time they were “urgently” working with the Metropolitan Police, and were investigating how he was able to escape from hospital. Officers located him at an address in Thamesmead, southeast London, on Wednesday afternoon. On Sunday, Boakye again absconded from policy custody, this time at Lewisham Hospital, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
