Hyundai’s EV hot hatch spotted racing days before its debut [Video]

Hyundai will unveil the IONIQ 3 during Milan Design Week in less than a week. Ahead of its debut, the electric hot hatch was spotted racing down the streets of South Korea. Hyundai prepares for IONIQ 3 EV debut on April 20, 2026 The IONIQ 3 is set to arrive as a little sibling to the IONIQ 5 and Hyundai’s first compact EV from the series. Hyundai previewed it for the first time with the Concept Three at the Munich Motor Show last September. Although it’s part of the IONIQ family, the concept featured a new look, unlike anything we’ve seen from Hyundai so far, with a sleek “Aero Hatch” silhouette and a ducktail spoiler. The design is “a new typology that reimagines the compact EV silhouette,” according to Hyundai. It not only delivers an “eye-catching” profile but also maximizes interior space. I Am Maximus emulates Red Rum to seal status as Aintree great

Townend has now won the Gold Cup and National in the same season for a second time and had the choice of eight horses from the Mullins yard to ride. “When they jumped off I got into a nice rhythm again, I still didn’t think he travelled with the enthusiasm of the first year, but I just thought the cheekpieces helped me in the middle part of the race,” he explained. “I saw the horse in front [Jordans], I wasn’t going to be the one to go chasing them. I was able to get a lead to the Elbow and I didn’t know where the loose horse was going. He [I Am Maximus] is a really, really good horse, that’s why [I always believed in him]. Obviously, Grangeclare West’s preparation was really good in the Bobbyjo, but this lad wasn’t telling me not to ride him.” In all, 16 horses finished the race. Robbie Dunne was taken to hospital after a heavy fall from Stellar Story, while three horses – Mr Vango, Top Of The …

I Am Maximus wins for second time

I Am Maximus wins for second time

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of Grand National day at Aintree, with 34 runners going to post for the world’s most famous steeplechase. With less punishing obstacles and a field full of contenders with Grade One form, the race’s complexion has changed over the last few decades but interest levels remain as high as ever. There is nowhere else to start than with JP McManus’ green-and-gold battalion; the Irish owner accounts for four of the top six horses in the betting market. I Am Maximus evidently has the class and course form having finished first and second in each of the last two Nationals, with Willie Mullins’ top jockey Paul Townend on board. However, he carries top weight which could prove difficult to overcome in a field with such depth. Punters have followed Jagwar over cliffs, he is a horse with so much ability but a horrible habit of finishing second, notably to fellow McManus horse Johnnywho in the Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham. Iroko finished in midfield in that race, but …

LA Needs 100,000 Construction Workers. Community Colleges Are Racing to Train Them

LA Needs 100,000 Construction Workers. Community Colleges Are Racing to Train Them

Hudson Idov wasn’t excited about any of his college options — that is, until his Los Angeles house burned down in the Palisades Fire his senior year of high school. Less than a week after graduation, he and one of his classmates enrolled in the carpentry program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, a community college just south of downtown. Their goal is to start a construction company one day and help rebuild the Palisades. “We have big, big 10-year plans,” he said during a break in his morning class. His personal tragedy drove the decision, but he also considers it wise to pursue a high-demand job, especially now. Before the Palisades and Eaton fires last year, Los Angeles was already short roughly 70,000 qualified construction workers. The destruction of thousands of homes and businesses during the fires made that problem even worse. The city now needs over 100,000 new workers in construction and construction-related careers, according to one state analysis, which estimates median pay at just under $30 an hour, though it varies depending on …

Halfbrick Launches Free ‘Jetpack Joyride Racing’ Game With Multiplayer Support For Up to Six Players

Mobile game developer Halfbrick today launched a new iOS game in its popular Jetpack Joyride series. Jetpack Joyride Racing is a multiplayer racing game that supports up to six players for real-time racing competitions. Players can take on the role of Barry Steakfries, Dan, Josie, Professor Brains, Robo Barry, and more, with four circuits and a zone system that changes gameplay on the fly. Purple zones slow you down, red zones cut your engine, and green zones speed you up. Races feature items to collect for boosts, drift mechanics, and different tactical designs to master in each level. In addition to the competitive racing mode with support for Discord voice chat, players can also team up with friends for collaborative gameplay in Party Mode. The game has easy-to-learn controls, but it will take some time to master drifting and boosting to win. Players can collect in-game cards for rewards, and the cards are part of the Halfbrick+ collectible card system. Cards unlock ships, characters, and cosmetic items, and will eventually integrate with other Halfbrick+ games …

Marcus has been racing correspondent at the Telegraph for more than 30 years. Before that he worked for the Racing Post. ‘Guns, Beer, Titties, Freedom’: Inside the World’s Toughest Off-Road Race

‘Guns, Beer, Titties, Freedom’: Inside the World’s Toughest Off-Road Race

A large dust cloud hovers over the otherwise clear Johnson Valley in Southern California. Just past the town of Lucerne Valley, a plot of public land is filled with all manner of off-road vehicles: dirt bikes, first-gen Toyota trucks with welded roll cages, brand-new Broncos, tiny four-wheelers piloted by children, and UTVs. RV campsites sprawl into the desert on either side, a temporary structure houses a bar and restaurant, and the road ends at a vendor village that could rival a small county fair. Welcome to Hammertown, the temporary desert city that springs up every January for 16 days for an off-road race series known as King of the Hammers. Think Burning Man meets Mad Max, but sponsored by Monster Energy. Having recently completed its 20th year, Hammers started as a contest between 13 friends and now comprises a series of races featuring everything from dirt bikes to VW Bugs to million-dollar trophy trucks. Most notably, it’s the birthplace of the Ultra4 series, which includes the Race of Kings—commonly called the world’s toughest single-day off-road …

Home By The Lee’s perseverance pays off at fifth time of asking in Stayers’ Hurdle

“Never give up, that’s the moral of the story,” Sean O’Driscoll, owner-breeder, said. “He’s won 12 races [more than any other horse O’Brien has trained] and been placed five times. My son John has never seen him win. He told me a couple of weeks ago he couldn’t come but a couple of days ago he said he could make it. I said: ‘No, you’d better stay away.’ So, John, this is for you. “He lost his way chasing. Joseph rang me one day and said:‘I think maybe you should send him to another yard, they can freshen him up.’ I said: ‘Are you politely telling me that I should take him away from the yard?’ To which he replied: ‘No, I’m not.’ So I said: ‘Well, he’s not going anywhere’. Joseph is an amazing trainer.” Keep trying might also be something of a motto for Jonbon, Nicky Henderson’s chaser who has never been out of the first two in 28 starts, one of the most remarkable records in the game. He kept that record …

Gaelic Warrior storms to Gold Cup glory as Mullins makes extraordinary look normal

Gaelic Warrior storms to Gold Cup glory as Mullins makes extraordinary look normal

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of the fourth and final day of the Cheltenham Festival as we build up to the Gold Cup at 4pm. Overnight rain has made the going good to soft, soft in places, but with a drying breeze and only light showers forecast today there cannot be any excuses. It remains good National Hunt ground. What we could call the King George triumvirate – The Jukebox Man, Gaelic Warrior and Jango Baie – are jostling for favouritism at the top of the betting, but the money this morning has come for Jango Baie, 7/2 from 11/2. Last year’s Arkle winner is stepping up in trip, but could be the classiest type in the contest and Nicky Henderson’s horses have generally been running well. Nico De Boinville is on board, and is looking to win his second Gold Cup having won as a conditional jockey on novice Coneygree in 2015. Harry Redknapp’s The Jukebox Man finished in front of Jango Baie and Gaelic Warrior in the King George and is …
