Oscars Flashback: What Heath Ledger, Reese Witherspoon, and Meryl Streep Wore On the Oscars 2006 Red Carpet

Oscars Flashback: What Heath Ledger, Reese Witherspoon, and Meryl Streep Wore On the Oscars 2006 Red Carpet

Trends may change from year to year, but some things—like black dresses, red lipstick, and Meryl Streep—are never out of place on the red carpet at the Oscars. Just as all of the glam above will almost certainly appear at the Oscars 2026 on Sunday, March 15, they were all present on the Oscars red carpet 20 years ago. The awards ceremony itself was full of surprises, from all four major acting winners—Reese Witherspoon, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel Weisz, and George Clooney—being first-time nominees, Crash pulling off a best picture upset over awards season favorite Brokeback Mountain, and more. Not a surprise, however, was the outstanding style attendees displayed on the red carpet two decades ago. Nobody wears a classic black tux like Clooney, as he once again demonstrated in 2006, and Michelle Williams, attending on the arm of Brokeback Mountain costar and then-partner Heath Ledger, another master of menswear, could wear her canary yellow Vera Wang gown with artful tulle ruffles and an elegant train today, and nobody would bat an eye. Jennifer Aniston …

Ava Phillippe is Reese Witherspoon’s double in red carpet moment

Ava Phillippe is Reese Witherspoon’s double in red carpet moment

Ava Phillippe was the spitting image of her A-list mother, Reese Witherspoon, in her latest red carpet appearance for the premiere of Scream 7 in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. The 26-year-old showcased her lithe figure in a black snakeskin dress with spaghetti straps, and paired the look with deep red heels and dangling black and gold earrings. She wore her blonde locks straight down to her shoulders and opted for a cat eye makeup look. By Ava’s side was her boyfriend, Dakota Brubaker, who arrived in a black suit with a black shirt underneath. The budding actress looked just like her mother at the event, with their matching blonde hair, heart-shaped faces and wide smiles. © FilmMagicAva arrived at the premiere in a black snakeskin dress Ava and Reese share a close bond, with the Legally Blonde star admitting to InStyle that she takes it as a compliment when people point out their uncanny resemblance. “I love being mistaken for her because it makes me feel so young,” she shared. Reese added that she was …

‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2 Casts WNBA Star Angel Reese

The Hunting Wives is expanding its social circle. Angel Reese, the two-time WNBA all-star, has joined the cast of the spicy Netflix series for season two. She steps into a co-starring role described as “Trainer Barbie.” The Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman-starring series that became a breakout hit for Netflix this summer is currently in production in the U.S. After the streamer acquired the series from Starz ahead of its first-season launch, the eight-episode second season will release exclusively as a Netflix branded series in nearly all countries Netflix is available. A premiere date has yet to be set. Reese joins previously announced new cast members John Stamos, Kim Matula, Alex FitzAlan, Dale Dickey and Cam Gigandet. Known as “Bayou Barbie,” Reese rose to stardom while leading the LSU Tigers to the 2023 NCAA women’s basketball championship. Reese Witherspoon Warns Fans About Online Impersonators

Reese Witherspoon Warns Fans About Online Impersonators

Reese Witherspoon is another celebrity who has been targeted by online scammers. Witherspoon took to TikTok Wednesday night to share a video cautioning fans not to fall for unverified accounts claiming to be her and using her name to obtain personal information and money, among other things. “There are multiple people on TikTok and Instagram impersonating me, and they go into people’s DMs, and they try to build a relationship, they try to extract personal information, plan meet up times,” she revealed. “I want you to know, this is not me. And it’s so upsetting that people would use my name to manipulate people, but I want you to know that I would never, ever manipulate you.” The Morning Show actress continued, “I would never reach out to you for money, for private information, to create a meet up time. So please look at these accounts that are doing this, and make sure they’re verified. If somebody’s talking to you, this is not just me. This is happening across the board, but it’s really upsetting …

Angel Reese defends gesture directed towards Caitlin Clark after LSU national title win; calls out double standard after being ‘unapologetically’ her

CNN  —  LSU star Angel Reese defended the gesture she aimed at Iowa Hawkeyes’ Caitlin Clark near the end of the Tigers’ first NCAA women’s basketball national championship victory on Sunday, saying “I don’t take disrespect lightly.” Reese could be seen approaching Clark before moving her open hand in front of her face – popularized by WWE star John Cena to mean “you can’t see me” – before pointing to her ring finger in a gesture some interpreted as a reference to the place her newly-acquired championship ring might sit. Clark made a similar gesture to another player earlier in the tournament. The gesture has sparked much debate, especially on social media. Some have criticized Reese, while others have defended her actions, highlighting how there was no public outrage in response to Clark’s gesture earlier in the tournament. Sports journalist Jose de Jesus Ortiz called Reese’s actions “classless,” while former ESPN host Keith Olbermann called Reese an “idiot” for the gesture. In the press conference after the victory, Reese referenced the difference in reaction she …
