Zack Polanski ripped apart by Met Police chief over outrageous Golders Green response | Politics | News

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has been publicly criticised Green party leader Zack Polanski for sharing an “inaccurate and misinformed” social media post about the way his officers arrested the Golders Green terror suspect. Mr Polanski shared a social media post stating “officers were repeatedly and violently kicking a mentally ill man in the head”. The move sparked outrage on Thursday morning, with critics claiming it “shows why his Green Party is so dangerous”. It comes as two candidates for the left-wing party were arrested on suspicion of stirring up racial hatred when they allegedly posted anti-Semitic comments online. Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley lashed out at the Green leader for retweeting an “inaccurate and misinformed” tweet from “armchair critics” of how police had responded to the carnage on the streets of North London. In a statement at the scene earlier today Sir Mark described the double attempted murder as a “horrendous act of violence” and revealed the motive was anti-Semitism. He also said the suspect had a “history of serious violence and mental health …

Keir Starmer ripped apart by barrister over ‘shameful’ act – ‘simply staggering’ | Politics | News

The right for defendants to choose whether trials should take place in the magistrates’ or crown court would be scrapped, meaning some sexual assault, burglary, drug dealing and robbery cases could be heard by a single judge. Instead, judges will assess whether a case is “likely” to result in a three-year prison sentence or more. If thought to be less, it will be heard by either a magistrate or the new Crown Court Bench Division. Justice Secretary David Lammy says drastic action is needed to reduce huge waiting lists, but has faced a furious backlash over cutting people’s right to have their fate decided by their peers. Now barrister Chris Moran has sensationally resigned his Labour membership in outrage, writing to the Prime Minister personally to vent his anger at the “heartbreaking” change. Mr Moran voted for Sir Keir to become Labour leader because he “looked up to and admired” him as a former director of public prosecutions. He also believed a Labour government would “act differently” to the Tories in its approach to the …

Gladiator Ripped apart by a Lion Reveals the Fate of Early Christians in the Roman Colosseum – OpentheWord.org

Christian Martyrs praying in the Roman Colosseumby Jean-Léon Gérôme, 1863, Wikipedia, Public Domain The discovery of the remains of a Roman Gladiator dated to the second century confirms the historical accounts about the deaths of Christians in the Roman Colosseum.
