Attorney Warns That Phubbing Is Legit Grounds For Divorce | Ronald Bavero

Phubbing is a word coined some time ago by combining the words “phone” and “snubbing.” In the context of marriage and other romantic relationships, it is simply ignoring a spouse or romantic partner in favor of scrolling on a phone. Emma Seppälä, a psychologist at Stanford and Yale universities, told Time, “Ironically, phubbing is meant to connect you, presumably, with someone through social media or texting. But it actually can severely disrupt your present-moment, in-person relationships.” Phubbing leads to marital dissatisfaction … and potentially divorce.  A few signs your partner is habitually phubbing:  Does your spouse check their phone every time it rings, even at the dinner table? Following the release of his new book Apple: The First 50 Years, tech columnist David Pogue is hosting an Apple at 50: Five Decades of Thinking Different event at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California tonight. The event will be live streamed on YouTube for free, starting at 7 p.m. Pacific Time. “From the early garage days of the 1970s, to the heyday of the Macintosh in the 1980s, to Apple’s transformation in the 2000s with the iPhone, the program will explore how Apple repeatedly redefined itself while holding fast to a distinctive vision,” the Computer History Museum said, in the YouTube stream’s description. Ronald Lauder, a powerful art collector who has patronized institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Getty Trust, and the World Monuments Funds, appears more than 900 times in the set of Jeffrey Epstein–related files that were released by the Department of Justice at the end of January. Lauder, the heir to the Estée Lauder Company, appears to have met with Epstein multiple times in 2017. While there is no direct communication between Lauder and Epstein, their respective assistants emailed frequently to discuss the arrangement of meals and phone calls for them. Epstein and Lauder were often looped into those email chains. Related Articles How many times the two met, or if they even ended up meeting, remains unclear from these emails, which suggest that Lauder’s schedule forced his assistant to frequently change his appointments with Epstein.
