The popular television presenter had been rumoured to be in discussions with producers for the hit BBC reality gameshow, following the success of its inaugural celebrity spin-off series. However, speaking on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show, Hammond confirmed the rumours were unfounded. “I can’t do it because I’m doing Bake Off,” the 51-year-old explained. “I think it’s the same time when I’m doing Bake Off, so that’s a definite no.” The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and set in the Scottish Highlands, sees 22 contestants – mostly ‘faithfuls’ – attempt to identify ‘traitors’ who secretly eliminate players overnight, all in pursuit of a cash prize.
