U.S. President Donald Trump repealed tariffs on a key U.K. export on Thursday, after a state visit from King Charles III and Queen Camilla appeared to help mend transatlantic relations dampened by a series of political standoffs. “In Honor of the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, who have just left the White House, soon headed back to their wonderful Country, I will be removing the Tariffs and Restrictions on Whiskey having to do with Scotland’s ability to work with the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Whiskey and Bourbon, two very important Industries within Scotland and Kentucky,” the president said in a Thursday Truth Social post. “People have wanted to do this for a long time, in that there had been great Inter-Country Trade, especially having to do with the Wooden Barrels used. Scotch & Soda Launches Basquiat-Inspired Collection

Amsterdam-based fashion brand Scotch & Soda released a collection this week that is inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat and features some of the artist’s work. The collection is a partnership with the Basquiat estate, via the global licensing agency Artestar. In a press release, Scotch & Soda said that like Basquiat, who is best known for bold paintings featuring dozens of different figures and colors in energetic and at times chaotic compositions that drew inspiration from 1980s “New York City’s rich culture,” it too draws from “the vibrant culture of Amsterdam as an ever-evolving source of inspiration.” Related Articles The collection, first announced last year, offers options in both men’s, women’s, and children. Included in the collection are a blue short-sleeve button-up, a Breton-striped long-sleeve T-shirt, and jeans that feature embroidery of Basquiat’s signature three-point, gold crown and a sketch of a person’s eyes, nose, and mouth. The Macallan’s James Bond partnership continues with a limited release of its Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary bottle, following the distillery’s 2022 James Bond 60th Anniversary series. The newly unveiled single malt Scotch whisky draws direct inspiration from the movie’s narrative, specifically Bond’s mastery of fine wine. It was also, quite fittingly, distilled in 2007 (emphasis on 007). During its 18 years of maturation, the whisky was held in hybrid casks crafted from sherry-seasoned European and American oak. A nod to the film, the American oak casks previously held red wine. In terms of flavor profile, this innovative choice results in bold depth and unexpected sweetness.
