Nine tankers seized by the US since it began taking direct action against the so-called shadow fleet that transport illicit oil around the world have delivered more than 20 million barrels of Iranian crude to China since 2013, according to the WSJ. The figures form part of a new report that provides an insight into the level of support China has given Iran by buying its sanctioned oil. Between 2013 and 2025, these nine vessels delivered 20.3 million barrels of Iranian crude to Chinese ports, the report said, citing data from Kpler. The vessels also carried 37.9 million barrels of Venezuelan crude and 11.1 million barrels of Russian crude to Chinese ports. U.S. forces taking control of an oil tanker in the Indian Ocean Altogether, that crude is worth at least $4 billion, according to the report, which is set to be released soon by Republicans on the House Select Committee on China, and seen by The Wall Street Journal. Authorities in Johnston County say a joint operation this week uncovered a large stash of drugs, illegal alcohol, cash and gambling equipment at a Benson property. Deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents to carry out a search warrant on Wednesday (March 18). The property sits along the 800 block of Dragstrip Road. Investigators moved in after what they described as a spike in complaints from neighbors about suspected drug dealing and unlawful gambling at the site. The sheriff’s office narcotics division led the case, with ALE agents assisting throughout the investigation and search. Officials stated in a Facebook post that the location had become a steady source of criminal activity in the area. When officers arrived to execute the warrant, one person tried to run out the back of the building while holding what authorities described as a large amount of illegal substances. Indian authorities seized the three Iran‑linked tankers near Indian waters alleging they had concealed ‌or altered their identities and were involved ‌in illegal ship‑to‑ship transfers at sea. Tehran has also sought supplies of certain medicines and medical equipment, according to one of the sources, an Iranian ⁠official. The Kremlin on Sunday issued an important battlefield update with Russian army chief Valery Gerasimov having newly declared that a dozen more eastern villages were seized in February. “In two weeks of February, despite severe winter conditions, combined forces and military units of the joint task force liberated 12 settlements,” Gerasimov said while visiting Russian troops operating inside Ukraine. Getty Images Gerasimov described Moscow’s forces are advancing toward Sloviansk, the industrial city that has been center of fighting between pro-Kiev and pro-Moscow forces going all the way back to 2014. According to Gerasimov, Russian troops are now roughly 15 kilometers (nine miles) from the city. Gerasimov said Russian forces are “expanding a security zone” along border areas in the northeastern Sumy and Kharkiv regions, where Moscow holds limited footholds.
