Meryl Streep Gives Seven-Figures to National Women’s History Museum

Earlier this week, the National Women’s History Museum—a nonprofit that organizes mostly virtual exhibitions that “illuminate the stories of women who have shaped our past and who continue to inform our shared future”—announced that Meryl Streep made a seven-figure donation to the Washington, D.C.-based institution. According to a statement, the Academy Award-winning actor has been a long-time supporter of the National Women’s History Museum, which was founded in 1996 by Karen Staser. The museum plans to use the funds to expand its digital initiatives.
