In one of her most memorable roles, O’Hara played the freaked-out mom of rascally son Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) in two Home Alone movies. Catherine O’Hara, the Emmy-winning actor who starred as Kevin’s beleaguered mother in Home Alone and the eccentric Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek, has died. The Canadian-American comedy star, who won her second career Emmy, for Lead Actress, in Schitt’s Creek in 2020, was 71. She died on Friday at her home in Los Angeles “following a brief illness,” her agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), said in a statement. No further details were available. The Thin Blue Line remains a fan favourite 20 years after it ended, with the show lasting for two seasons between 1995 and 1996. The hilarious sitcom focused on the exploits of the police officers of the fictional town of Gasforth. The show was led by Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson as Inspector Raymond Fowler, but playing his often unlucky-in-love girlfriend, Sergeant Patricia Dawkins was Serena Evans. Her character’s devotion to Raymond, including the hopes of settling down and having children. Following the show’s conclusion, Serena went on to star in the likes of The Piglet Files, The Comic Strip Presents and horror series Approaching Shadows, which aired between 2018 and 2021. Isiah Whitlock Jr., who was best known for his role on The Wire, has died aged 71. “It is with tremendous sadness that I share the passing of my dear friend and client Isiah Whitlock Jr.,” his manager said in a statement. “If you knew him – you loved him”. Whitlock Jr. portrayed openly corrupt city councilman Clay Davis on 25 episodes over five seasons of The Wire from 2002 to 2008. The fan-favourite character was known for his trademark expression – “sheee-it” -, which was first delivered on the show in 2002. The profanity inspired the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum to release a 20th Anniversary Edition Isiah Whitlock Jr. Talking Bobblehead in 2022.
