Anthropic says Claude Code subscribers will need to pay extra for OpenClaw usage

It’s about to become more expensive for Claude Code subscribers to use Anthropic’s coding assistant with OpenClaw and other third-party tools. According to a customer email shared on Hacker News, Anthropic said that starting at noon Pacific on April 4 (today), subscribers will “no longer be able to use your Claude subscription limits for third-party harnesses including OpenClaw.” Instead, they’ll need to pay for extra usage through “a pay-as-you-go option billed separately from your subscription.” The company said that while it’s starting with OpenClaw today, the policy “applies to all third-party harnesses and will be rolled out to more shortly.” Anthropic’s head of Claude Code Boris Cherny wrote on X that the company’s “subscriptions weren’t built for the usage patterns of these third-party tools” and that Anthropic is now trying “to be intentional in managing our growth to continue to serve our customers sustainably long-term.” The announcement comes after OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger said he was joining Anthropic rival OpenAI, with OpenClaw continuing as an open source project with support from OpenAI. Steinberger posted that …

AI music generator Suno hits 2M paid subscribers and 0M in annual recurring revenue

AI music generator Suno hits 2M paid subscribers and $300M in annual recurring revenue

Suno co-founder and CEO Mikey Shulman shared on LinkedIn that the AI music generator has amassed 2 million paid subscribers and $300 million in annual recurring revenue. Just three months ago, Suno announced a $250 million funding round that valued the company at $2.45 billion. At the time, Suno told The Wall Street Journal that annual revenue had hit $200 million — that would indicate that the company has had some major growth in a short time frame. Suno lets users create music using natural language prompts, making it possible for people with little experience to generate audio with little effort. This has sparked concern from musicians and record labels, who have sued Suno for copyright infringement, since its AI model was likely trained on existing recorded music. But Warner Music Group recently settled its lawsuit and instead reached a deal that allows Suno to launch models that use licensed music from its catalog. Suno has generated synthetic music that sounds real enough to top charts on Spotify and Billboard. Telisha Jones, a 31-year-old in …

AI Music Platform Suno Says It Has Surpassed 2 Million Subscribers

AI music generation platform Suno has 2 million paid subscribers, the company’s CEO Mikey Shulman announced on Thursday, a significant milestone reflecting the continued growth of AI music. Shulman, who also said Suno had surpassed $300 million in annual recurring revenue, said the company’s growth reflects a consumer class tired of algorithmically curated, churned out content, and he argued that Suno is offering an alternative. “Endless scrolling and passive consumption have flattened culture and reduced people’s taste to a homogeneous, lowest common denominator,” Shulman wrote. “People yearn for more, and the future of consumer entertainment is creative. Suno lets everyone actively participate in music culture creation, bringing to life the music that’s inside millions of people.” We launched Suno 2 years ago to let the world feel the joy of making music Since then, over 100M people all over the world have used Suno, from music lovers to Grammy winners. We reached a new milestone: 2M paid subscribers, $300M ARR. We are building the entertainment platform… — Mikey (@MikeyShulman) February 25, 2026 Suno’s rise hasn’t …

That milestone includes both digital-only and print home delivery subscriptions (which feature online access by default). The Dublin-based Irish Times Group (which includes the Irish Examiner based in Cork) has around 150,000 subscribers across print and digital. Ruadhán Mac Cormaic, who has edited The Irish Times for three years and spent 17 years at the title, told Press Gazette said: “It’s important for the organisation. It’s a milestone, it’s not the destination. And there are other milestones we have to hit. “I don’t want to pretend that… we have the answer to every question. Mill Media asks for subscribers first, promising launch later in Leeds

Leeds city centre. Picture: Christopher Chambers/Shutterstock Mill Media is set to expand to Leeds on the condition that it hits 500 paying subscribers for the new, unnamed title. “If we can get 500 people to pledge to support us, then we will launch the title,” said Daniel Timms, head of commercial at Mill Media. Users are offered the option to sign up for a month or a year, and will not be charged until the title is launched. “We think any sustainable future for local journalism is via paid subscriptions. We want to know that there are enough people in Leeds or the wider West Yorkshire region who are willing to support us to make it happen.” Leeds would be the seventh brand from the local newsletter publisher to be launched and the third to be launched on Ghost and not Substack, where its network of titles originated.   A team has not yet been hired for the launch, but it is expected to start out with two full-time staff, said Timms.
