The filmmaker, 59, directed three films for DC’s extended universe – Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). After the original release of Justice League saw him cede creative control of the project, a hard-fought fan campaign to “release the Snyder cut” ultimately resulted in the development of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), a vastly different version of the film in line with his own vision. During an appearance on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Snyder addressed fans’ calls for him to continue the “Snyderverse” – despite his collaborations with DC having seemingly come to an end. “I would never say there is no way,” Snyder said. “I was on the ride …

Superman Weston claims another gold in team skeleton on GB’s greatest day

Having nabbed the last few slices of margherita pizza at the athletes’ village on Friday before getting to bed, Weston was hoping for a few beers to celebrate this gold alongside some more pizza. And, after Team GB’s earlier victory in the mixed snowboard cross, how did it feel both to cap off Britain’s greatest Winter Olympic day but also become the most successful athlete in any single Games? “I’m just absolutely over the moon – buzzing – there’s some great names in British Winter Olympian history,” Weston said. “To even consider putting my name next to those is a massive honour. A lot of those guys have been an inspiration.” After being asked about his grasp of history, Weston then laughed as he thought back to his school days. “I was a bit of a nightmare to be honest,” he said. “I think my teachers probably watching are going to go: ‘How is that the same Matt Weston who was at school?’ I was a bit of a character, but I’ve calmed down. I’m …

The private deal for Action Comics No. 1, announced on Friday, significantly eclipses the previous record price for a comic book. That benchmark was set last November when a copy of Superman No. 1 fetched $9.12 million at auction. Manhattan-based Metropolis Collectibles/Comic Connect negotiated the sale, with both the comic book’s owner and the buyer opting to remain anonymous. Originally priced at just 10 cents upon its 1938 release, the anthology also featured a collection of now largely forgotten characters.
