The US military is deploying unmanned and autonomous surface platforms that can tow an advanced mine-hunting sonar system to detect sea mines that were deployed by Iranian naval forces. This development comes even as Iran closed the Hormuz chokepoint on Saturday morning. By Sunday morning, Iran’s chief negotiator said some progress had been made in negotiations with the US, but there is still a long way to go before a deal is reached. Despite the volatility in the Hormuz chokepoint’s operational status, somewhat like Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold,” the US military deployed numerous sea drones towing the floating sonar minesweeping system.  WSJ explained:  The Common Uncrewed Surface Vessel, a drone made by RTX that tows a new floating sonar system called the AQS-20, scans the bottom of the sea for mines, patrolling columns that are 100 feet wide at a time. In an expletive-laden video on the Politicon YouTube channel posted earlier this week, Carville said if the Democrats take control of the House of Representatives and the Senate, they will launch investigations into Trump and his family, which will eventually lead to the president’s resignation. “The Democrats are going to investigate you to no end,” Carville said. “Then they’re going to go after your stupid, jacka** kids and their spouses.” Carville did not explain for which potential offenses Trump and his family may be investigated. Florida’s push against illegal gambling operations just got bigger, with state regulators announcing that more machines and cash have been taken off the streets in a widening Central Florida crackdown. The Florida Gaming Control Commission says the tally from Operation Reel of Fortune has climbed sharply since the first round of raids. Feb 28 : Marco Odermatt won the first men’s World Cup Alpine skiing downhill after the Milano Cortina Olympics in a Swiss one-two-three in the German resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Saturday. Odermatt failed in his bid for gold at this month’s Games in Italy, taking two silvers and a bronze, but was immediately back on top of a podium that surprisingly did not feature compatriot and triple gold medallist Franjo von Allmen. Law enforcement agencies fanned out across Central Florida this week, shutting down dozens of illegal gambling storefronts and hauling away stacks of cash and hundreds of machines. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Florida Gaming Control Commission and Attorney General James Uthmeier for what they called Operation Reel of Fortune. Deputies served search warrants at seven sites in Volusia County alone. By the end of those searches, investigators had taken about $97,000 in cash and 225 gambling machines, according to the sheriff’s office.
