There’s nothing quite like slipping into a cute pair of panties to help pull your life together when everything else is falling apart. Sure, the world is on fire and our newsfeeds have never looked bleaker – but it’s nothing the petal-soft touch of a new thong can’t sweeten. Facetiousness aside, the power of new underwear is underestimated. Whether you’re a lace love or silk connoisseur, lingerie offers the ultimate boost of self-confidence when we’re feeling a little low which, considering the climate, is a rather frequent occurence. © @nicolaannepeltzbeckhamNicola Peltz Beckham wearing a pair of slogan pants Enter an unlikely hero – Nicola Peltz Beckham. While the media continues to pick apart the heiress’ tumultuous relationship with her in-laws, our attention fell to her wardrobe. Last week, the 31-year-old took to social media to debut a new summer-ready look – a broderie anglaise babydoll dress peppered with crocheted strawberry motifs and polka dots by Frankies Bikinis. The brand’s Coppola Dress was coolly styled with a pair of white cotton embroidered undies, emblazoned with the …

I’ve mastered the ‘everything shower’ in four quick steps and have never looked (or smelt) better

I’ve mastered the ‘everything shower’ in four quick steps and have never looked (or smelt) better

If there’s one thing that Gen Z excels at, it’s no-expense-spared self care. Multi-step, aesthetic beauty and wellness regimes are this generation’s forte: they’ve created ‘bedtime stacking’ of beautifying tasks (applying fake tan, then putting on face and lip masks, then inserting overnight hair rollers, etcetera), as well as ‘sleepmaxxing’, which entails mouth taping and wearing nose strips and a silk eye mask, all in pursuit of waking up looking effortlessly polished. The big daddy of Gen Z’s maximalist approach to self care, though, is the notorious ‘everything shower’. A process that some women on TikTok are proud to dedicate four hours to, it involves a sequence of elaborate tasks to happen before, during and after a shower. Think dry brushing, hair oiling before a double shampoo and mask, a five-step skincare routine, exfoliating the entire body, shaving and a generous dose of body cream – and often so much more – before slipping into a fresh pair of pyjamas.  I created a streamlined ‘everything shower’ with just four steps Sure, I agree that ‘everything …

Can desert boots ever be chic? We fashion editors say yes – here’s how to style them

Can desert boots ever be chic? We fashion editors say yes – here’s how to style them

Anti-chic shoes are hot stuff. We’re talking stomp-worthy, platformed pillowy kicks that strike fear in the hearts of ballet pump lovers everywhere.  The past few seasons have placed ‘ugly-chic’ footwear front and centre of the style radar – with Margiela Tabi’s still reigning supreme alongside finger shoes, platform clogs, and leopard print Crocs. One silhouette we did not expect to bounce back with gusto? The humble desert boot. Characterised by a suede construction, a rounded toe, a crepe rubber base and an ankle length shape, desert boots have divided the fashion set since World War II, when soldiers wore them during desert campaigns.  © @deborabrosaDesert boots are perfect for festival season Inspired by the South African ‘velskoen’ boot, the design was later popularised by Clarks, whose Desert Trek and Desert Boot designs became iconic. Showcasing a rugged, earthy aesthetic that prioritised function over fashion, desert boots were adopted by the counterculture, becoming a staple piece among mod groups and within Jamaican reggae culture, a movement beloved by stars like Steve McQueen and Bob Dylan. As …

Luxe for Less: The affordable spring staples I’m shopping this April

Luxe for Less: The affordable spring staples I’m shopping this April

The spring season is great for many reasons. Longer evenings mean more time spent outdoors with friends, lighter mornings allow you to actually see what and where you’re putting your makeup, while the warmer climate invites you to update your wardrobe game. What’s not to love?  Given that it ‘tis the season to start spending more of your hard earned dosh at wine bars, booking beach front holidays and everything else that comes with frivolous sun-induced spending, I’ve rounded up the very best high street find that look utterly luxury, but won’t break the bank.  From a Bottega dupe so good passers by will think it’s the real deal, to a suede-style tote perfect for housing all of the essentials and Chloe girl-approved butter yellow frill dress, this spring is ripe with affordable wardrobe heroes.  Textured Faux Leather Jacket M&S Did someone say Bottega? Crafted from faux leather and made with a unique basket-style weave, this jacket is the definition of Luxe for Less. The perfect throw on layer for the spring season and beyond, …

I’m a 5’11 fashion editor – these are the brands I’m loving for spring

I’m a 5’11 fashion editor – these are the brands I’m loving for spring

Being tall has its perks. Increased visibility at gigs, the ability to reach the top shelf in Tesco, the need to forgo the heels when you feel like it. However, there is one glaringly obvious downside to having height – the stress that comes with shopping for a new wardrobe. Finding clothes that fit like a glove is a constant battle. Mini dresses constantly threaten to reveal the undies, jeans rarely reach the ankles, and office-appropriate trousers end up looking like culottes. Not the desired effect for someone who prefers a baggier silhouette. It’s been a lifelong mission of mine to find brands that work for tall women. I’ll be honest, it’s the bane of my entire existence, actually.  Labels that offer ‘tall’ options are few and far between – and the items that are designed for lengthy ladies sell like hot cakes, making them incredibly difficult to come across. When it comes to trousers and jeans, many brands struggle to find the balance between still not being quite long enough and pooling around your …

Floral boots are the whimsy spring trend we didn’t know we needed

Floral boots are the whimsy spring trend we didn’t know we needed

Florals for spring – you know the drill. Blossom pink hues, petal silhouettes and foliage detailing bloom right on cue each year when the sun decides to rear its head and thaw the muted palettes of winter.  Yet, one corner of the fashion industry that has remained fairly untouched by the feminine theme is footwear, more specifically, boots.  Floral boots boast a history as vibrant as their aesthetic. In the 18th century, during the frivolous Rococo period, silk jacquard options were favoured by the aristocratic and affluent in France, who adopted the dainty Pompadour heel – an homage to Madame de Pompadour, mistress of King Louis XV. © ValentinoValentino Resort SS26 These curved kicks paved the way for similarly intricate styles worn during the Victorian era, which took place a century or so later. Victorian designers favoured light, ornate aesthetics reminiscent of the Rococo period, yet replaced dated buckle adornments with adjustable lace-up detailing to provide a more functional fit. Either way, the shoes produced from both movements looked like they could have been painted …

The wearable fashion week-inspired pieces under £300 I’m buying this March

The wearable fashion week-inspired pieces under £300 I’m buying this March

The weeks during and after fashion month always leave me with plenty of shopping inspiration and the sudden urge to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. It’s one of the (two if we count the September shows too) best times of year to experiment with fresh styles seen on the runway, while also investing in those classic staples designers have proved aren’t going anywhere for the rest of the season. Granted, it can feel a little confusing taking inspiration straight from the catwalk when designers are always presenting collections for the season ahead. In February and March, we see autumn/winter shows, while September and October bring spring/summer debuts. But that doesn’t mean we can’t take cues from the textures, silhouettes and styling tricks on display to stay one step ahead. Of course, recreating every runway moment for a fraction of the price isn’t exactly realistic (sadly, those deliciously sculpted hems Jonathan Anderson debuted for Dior aren’t likely to appear on the high street anytime soon). But the beauty of fashion month is spotting …

The moodboards shaping the H! Fashion team’s 2026

The moodboards shaping the H! Fashion team’s 2026

I’m not easily influenced. In fact, I’m loving the ‘de-influencer’ trend that’s currently taking over TikTok. However, earlier this week, I dropped the ball. During my ritual pre-bed doomscroll (health is wealth guys), I came across a content creator’s post that listed her tips for how to prepare for the new year.  One of the pointers included in her meticulously crafted carousel caught my eye – making a moodboard. What started out as a perfect excuse to mess around on Canva (a favourite pastime of the H! Fashion girls), turned out to be a wholly cathartic activity. Influencer – 1, Anti-influencer – 0.  What did I envision for 2026? The obvious, such as Dua Lipa-inspired holidays, career growth, good health, plenty of sleep and puppies. Yet, the exercise prompted deeper consideration as to what I truly wanted to squeeze out of the 365 days ahead. More road trips, the feeling of calm you get when you look at a Georgia O’Keefe painting, slogan tops. Visualising my goals, dreams and desires was a surprisingly fun, intimate experience.  …
