Charlize Theron is weighing in on Timothée Chalamet‘s earlier comments about ballet and opera, calling them “very reckless” and defending the art forms. In an interview with The New York Times published Saturday, Theron spoke about the physical and mental demands of dance while discussing her own experience. “Dance is probably one of the hardest things I ever did. Dancers are superheroes. What they put their bodies through in complete silence,” the Mad Max: Fury Road star said, prompting the reporter to joke, “Sorry, Timothée Chalamet.” “Oh, boy, I hope I run into him one day,” Theron replied. “That was a very reckless comment on an art form, two art forms, that we need to lift up constantly because, yes, they do have a hard time. Timothée Chalamet loves a good boot. More specifically, he loves a good American boot–think Red Wings and Timberlands. These are big hitters. The classics everyone knows. But at CinemaCon on Tuesday, during a presentation for the upcoming Dune: Part Three, he swerved. Instead of pulling up in his usuals, the Oscar nominee went a bit deeper: a pair of Visvim Virgils that only a certain kind of fashion guy could clock instantly. The what? We hear you. Visvim isn’t exactly mainstream. Founded by Hiroki Nakamura back in the early ’00s, the Japanese label has built a rep on obsessive craftsmanship and a slightly spiritual approach to clothing: natural dyes, hand-finished details, and lots and lots of references to vintage Americana. Dune: Part Three opens with no shortage of firepower, as the CinemaCon crowd learned Tuesday. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and director Denis Villeneuve took the stage at the Las Vegas event to discuss the sequel. They then unveiled the first seven minutes from the highly anticipated film during Warner Bros.‘ presentation. The footage featured Javier Bardem as Stilgar as he led his troops against a seemingly insurmountable enemy. The intense battle scenes featured an endless array of shots fired and plenty of actual fire. After those seven minutes, additional footage included Chalamet’s Paul Atreides confronting Zendaya’s Chani in a tense moment. “You’ve conquered the galaxy,” Momoa tells Chalamet in the new footage. “You’ve destroyed thousands of worlds.” This leads Chalamet to ask, “What are your thoughts on that?” to which Momoa replies, “I think you’re way beyond redemption.” Later, Zendaya asks Chalamet, “How does it feel to be human like everyone else, Paul Atreides?” In introducing the scenes, Villeneuve called the film a thriller and teased, “It’s more intense and definitely more emotional.” Chalamet …

Jenner appeared as a guest on Kid Cudi’s debut episode of the Big Bro podcast, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. (My three desert-island essentials, for example, would likely comprise a pair of crunchy hiking shoes, a machete, and a fat, parable-filled tome à la Edith Hamilton’s Mythology or, simply, the Bible.) But if you’re Timothée Chalamet, on a pseudo-ultra-private beach getaway with his partner of three years, Kylie Jenner, those proverbial essentials take on a different utility.
