Unstoppable Noah Caluori inspires record Saracens win – but they cannot spell his name right

Scrum half Charlie Bracken was also exceptional while centre Olly Hartley and No 8 Tom Willis provided a continual stream of go-forward. Again, there was very little resistance from Sale and this will bear a long and painful review. Sale’s season may already be at an end and they have a horrific injury list but the absence of fight and heart was inexcusable, particularly at a point when the club were launching their season-ticket drive. At the very minimum, the CorpAcq should be a horrible place to visit for the opposing teams; the rugby equivalent of your cold Tuesday night at Stoke City. The inquest will begin in earnest on Monday morning as Sanderson gathers his squad to address what exactly their motivation is and where it has disappeared to. “I thought I was pretty clear at the start of the week around some of the things that were motivating the group,” Sanderson said. “Now I have asked them to come in tomorrow and tell me what’s motivating them individually. Some of those collective motivational …

Inventor Beulah Louise Henry’s unstoppable rise to becoming ‘Lady Edison’

Get the Popular Science daily newsletter💡 Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent six days a week. Beulah Louise Henry was just nine years old when she came up with her first invention in 1896, a device that allowed a man to tip his hat without ever putting down his newspaper.  By her death in 1973, at the age of 85, she’d come up with so many more—a doll with eyes that changed color with the press of a button, a sewing machine without a bobbin (a threaded spool that slowed down work because it had to be frequently refilled), a clock designed to help kids learn to tell time, and others—that the press even dubbed Henry “Lady Edison.”  Her ideas, she once told a reporter, were “messages from a guiding spirit.” Beulah Louise Henry’s early life Henry grew up a daughter of fortune in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father Walter was a prominent lawyer and orator. Her mother, who was also named Beulah—a common tradition in the late 19th century—was a homemaker and the daughter …

‘All you hear is bloody Irish accents’: the unstoppable growth of Sydney’s ‘County’ Coogee | Sydney

“I remember having my mind blown seeing boys walking down the beach in Irish football jerseys,” says Luke McCaul, a Dublin-born hairdresser and drag queen who moved to the beachside Sydney suburb of Coogee to work 15 years ago. “Like, ‘what the fuck are they doing?’ Gaelic football jerseys – in Australia!” “County” Coogee, as it’s become popularly known, hosts one of the largest Irish populations in Australia. In the last census, 19.5% of its residents claimed Irish heritage. When McCaul describes “going down Coogee Bay Road and all you hear is bloody Irish accents”, he’s not joking. It also tracks with my own experience. Both my daughters were born at the nearby Prince of Wales hospital, where almost every midwife hailed from Belfast, Galway or Derry. When we officially moved to Coogee last year, their new daycare educators had exciting names like Siobhan, Gillian and Niamh. So why here? Coogee is not the only beach in Sydney’s east, nor is it the most affordable, and yet the four-leafed clover takeover is undeniable. Along with …

“We would be frankly unstoppable”: Trump dances around Greenland threats at Davos

Donald Trump continued to push for the U.S. acquisition of Greenland at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday. The president’s speech at the annual gathering in Davos was full of semi-veiled threats to Denmark and Europe. The president repeatedly referred to Greenland, which is a semi-autonomous territory of Kingdom of Denmark as a “piece of ice.” Trump said the U.S. would be “frankly unstoppable” if they decided to take Greenland by force, but hoped it wouldn’t come to that. “I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force. All the United States is asking for is a place called Greenland,” he said. “That’s probably the biggest statement I’ve made.” A seemingly confused  Trump once referred to the area as Iceland during the hour-long speech . “Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland,” he said. “So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money.” On  Tuesday,  Trump’s European tariff threats triggered  biggest daily stock market drop in months over Greenland opposition. The S&P 500 …
