The proposal, titled the “Mined in America Act,” would establish a federal certification program for domestic crypto mining operations while phasing out reliance on foreign-manufactured hardware. It also seeks to codify Donald Trump’s executive order creating a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, placing the policy on statutory footing, according to a release on the matter. “Digital asset mining is a big part of our economy. We should be doing it here in America,” Cassidy said in a statement, framing the bill as a supply chain and manufacturing initiative. U.S. lawmakers on Tuesday (March 17) rolled out new legislation aimed at shutting down certain prediction markets that allow people to wager on geopolitical developments, government decisions, and other real-world events. Sen. Chris Murphy and Rep. Greg Casar introduced what they call the Banning Event Trading on Sensitive Operations and Federal Functions Act, or the BETS OFF Act. The Pink Palace is expanding. In a significant milestone — its first major extensive expansion since the 1940s — the Beverly Hills Hotel is preparing five new public spaces to pump its dining, entertainment and lounging offerings inside one of Hollywood’s favored hideaways. The new spaces add to a stable that already includes the popular Polo Lounge, Fountain Coffee Room and Cabana Cafe, all of which will remain unchanged. BYD to unveil 1,500kW EV charger that can add 2km of range in 1 second
BYD will hold a press conference on March 5 unveiling several new versions of its technologies, including new batteries, ADAS software, and a 1,500kW charger that has already been spotted in the wild. The charger was spotted by Autohome, which also reported the upcoming press conference and some information on BYD’s announcements. You can see photos of the charger on their post. The photos show a charging station with overhead cables, hanging from a T-shaped structure. The intent is to allow cables to reach further so that various types of vehicles can be accommodated, but also stop the cables from being dropped on the ground, where they can be run over, get dirty or otherwise damaged. More interestingly, the label on the charging unit describes how much power its capable of pushing – and it’s quite a lot.
