‘Occasionally a picture can change the course of history’: 33 scandalous photos that shocked the world

Words can tell a story, but it’s pictures that will make you believe in it. Such is the power of a photograph; the ability to strip away illusions, to illuminate something hidden, and sometimes force us to accept unpalatable truths. When it comes to scandal, seeing is believing – occasionally even to the point that a picture changes the course of history. How might life have been different for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had he not been photographed clutching the midriff of the 17-year-old girl he would later claim he had never met? Without this haunting triptych of the former prince, the late Virginia Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein’s fixer, Ghislaine Maxwell, hovering in the background, there would have been nothing physical to connect the then prince with a trafficking victim. Though for years Andrew’s friends insisted that the photograph must have been doctored, buried within the Epstein files recently released by the US Department of Justice is a note from Maxwell that appears to confirm it is real. But more often in what follows, the camera simply …

King Charles source says if he contributed to Andrew’s £12m Epstein victim settlement | Royal | News

King Charles did not contribute to the £12 million payout made by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to settle a case brought against him by one of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, a source close to him has said. The palace moved to distance King Charles from the payout, and denied reports he contributed £1.5 million of the total payout to the late Virginia Giuffre, who accused the former duke of having sex with her, aged 17, after she was trafficked to London by Epstein, reports The Times. Andrew has denied wrongdoing and all allegations made against him. He paid an undisclosed sum, understood to be $15 million (then worth around £12 million), to settle a civil sexual assault lawsuit in 2022. According to The Sun around £7 million came from the late Queen as a “loan”, with a further £3 million from the estate of his father Prince Philip. Around £1.5million was reportedly contributed by other members of the Firm. The Times reports that private funds from the Royal Family were paid to help Andrew with the payout because …

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appeared on Epstein files ‘prominent names’ list

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appeared on Epstein files ‘prominent names’ list

A source with knowledge of the investigation told the Mirror: “The inclusion of Andrew’s name in the FBI material will inevitably raise questions, but it is being treated with caution. The document does not reach conclusions or establish guilt, and there is a clear understanding that allegations alone are not findings. Nonetheless, the renewed scrutiny is difficult and adds to the wider sensitivity around the issue.” Source link

Ghislaine Maxwell says photo of Andrew and Virginia Giuffre is ‘real’ | Royal | News

The photo of Andrew and Ms Giuffre (Image: X) The photo of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Virginia Giuffre is “real”, Ghislaine Maxwell has claimed. The infamous photo, said to be taken inside the Mayfair home of disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, shows Prince Andrew with his arms around 17-year-old Giuffre. For years Andrew has denied any wrongdoing, during his 2019 BBC NewsNight interview he claimed that his hand around Ms Giuffre’s waist could have been forged and alleged he did not remember meeting her. During the disastrous interview he told Emily Maitlis: “I can tell you categorically I don’t remember meeting her at all. I do not remember a photograph being taken.” He also doubted the legitimacy of the picture and used the location and his outfit to cast further doubt. Ghislaine Maxwell has claimed the infamous photo is in fact real (Image: Getty) Andrew told Maitlis: “You can’t prove whether or not that photograph is fake because it’s a photograph of a photograph of a photograph. It’s very difficult to be able to prove it, …

Andrew’s ‘tragic’ life exposed as ex-royal has ‘lots of time to fill’ | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, is living a dramatically diminished life with “lots of time to fill,” after he was banished from the royal family, a royal expert has claimed. In October, Andrew agreed to no longer use his Duke of York title before the King went a step further a fortnight later and dramatically stripped him of both his right to be a prince and his dukedom, making Andrew a commoner for the first time. The 65-year-old, who was ordered to stop using his HRH style by his mother Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, now faces a day-to-day existence far removed from the public and ceremonial life he once enjoyed. The ex-royal, who has largely disappeared from public view, is reportedly spending much of his time alone at Royal Lodge, with little to occupy his days, according to royal commentator Simon Vigar. Speaking on Royal Confidential, The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson questioned what Andrew now does with his time. “It also makes me wonder what he’s actually doing. We only ever …

DOJ Claims Epstein Files Letter From Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar Is Fake

DOJ Claims Epstein Files Letter From Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar Is Fake

No prior connection between Jeffrey Epstein and Nassar was publicly known. The note makes a reference to “our president”—at that point, Donald Trump, in his first term—and a seeming predilection for “young, nubile girls.” Epstein’s opening greeting also may refer to an intention to end his own life. The additional files related to Jeffery Epstein released by the Justice Department on Tuesday, December 23 include a note addressed to “L.N.” signed by “J. Epstein.” “Dear L.N.,” the letter reads, “As you know by now, I have taken the ‘short route’ home. Good luck! We shared one thing … our love and caring for young ladies and the hope they’d reach their full potential. Our President also shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by, he loved to ‘grab snatch,’ whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system. Life is unfair.” Source link
