Sneak peek of Rove’s 2nd ‘full service’ EV charger in Costa Mesa, open Wed

Rove, a company founded to improve the EV charging experience by building “full service” EV charging centers with access to amenities you can use while charging, has now opened its second charging plaza in Costa Mesa, CA, and we got a sneak preview. Rove opened its first charging plaza in Santa Ana, CA in 2024. The format is somewhat unique, at least in the US. Rather than just being a couple DC chargers tucked in the back corner of whatever parking lot they could get an agreement with, Rove has created a full travel plaza centered around a huge bank of chargers. There are plenty of gas stations with amenities for travelers, so why shouldn’t EV chargers have the same or more, given that people are going to be spending a little more time there anyway? Rove also …

Four things we’d need to put data centers in space

Four things we’d need to put data centers in space

Large structures with hundreds of square meters of solar arrays would quickly suffer damage from small pieces of space debris and meteorites, which would over time degrade the performance of their solar panels and create more debris in orbit. Operating one million satellites in low Earth orbit, the region of space at the altitude of up to 2,000 kilometers, might be impossible to do safely unless all satellites in that area are part of the same network so they can communicate effectively to maneuver around each other, Greg Vialle, the founder of the orbital recycling startup Lunexus Space, told MIT Technology Review. “You can fit roughly four to five thousand satellites in one orbital shell,” Vialle says. “If you count all the shells in low Earth orbit, you get to a number of around 240,000 satellites maximum.” And spacecraft must be able to pass each other at a safe distance to avoid collisions, he says.  “You also need to be able to get stuff up to higher orbits and back down to de-orbit,” he adds. …

What Happened on Euphoria Season 2—and What We’d Like to See in Season 3

What Happened on Euphoria Season 2—and What We’d Like to See in Season 3

How It Started: The new girl in town, Jules quickly became Rue’s bestie and Nate’s obsession. Through it all, she had excellent eye makeup. How It’s Going: Jules seems to be living the high life, lounging in a penthouse in front of an easel as someone’s muse or, perhaps, sugar baby. Either way, it’s what she deserves. What We Want: No notes. Meanwhile, IRL: Schafer is fighting for trans rights and has joined the star-studded casts of Mother Mary and Tom Ford’s upcoming film, Cry to Heaven. Again: right where she should be. LEXI (Maude Apatow) Eddy Chen/HBO. Eddy Chen/HBO. How It Started: She was Rue’s childhood friend and Cassie’s wallflower little sister. Often overlooked, but don’t worry: She was watching everything and writing a play about it. How It’s Going: Lexi is single and on the prowl at her sister’s wedding, which is very relatable. What We Want: Lexi starts as a PA on a film set, getting coffees and parking cars. Her knack for dialogue is noted by the president of the studio, …

We’d Be Winning This War if It Weren’t for Your Coverage

We’d Be Winning This War if It Weren’t for Your Coverage

Dear Media: There is no other way of putting this. The Fake News’s contumacious insistence on reporting what is actually happening in Iran rather than what Donald Trump would prefer was happening is setting back the war effort. So we at the FCC would like to provide you with some suggestions for updating your coverage. This is not a threat. However, please remember that we are in the process of consolidating every media company under the control of a man with a named boat who hates all the programming and has preemptively given Donald Trump his kidney, “just in case it ever comes in handy.” War in Iran: Was won last week, and any statements to the contrary are harmful to the troops. These include but are not limited to: pictures of the conflict, neutral tallies of casualties, interviews with people who claim to have knowledge of events in Iran prior to the year 1979, and questions directed to the president about his own past statements. Any mention of previous wars that people thought would …

The Claudia Winkleman Show review: Was there any doubt we’d be in good hands?

The Claudia Winkleman Show review: Was there any doubt we’d be in good hands?

A star rating of 3 out of 5. It’s only been a matter of days since Claudia Winkleman was last on our TV screens, thanks to Crufts, but tonight marked the first time we truly saw her in her element. Announced late last year, fresh off of The Celebrity Traitors high, the BBC announced that Winkleman would host her very own chat show, made by the same production company behind The Graham Norton Show. It’s important to not draw comparisons between the two, because despite the same Friday night slot, Winkleman brings her well-known and much-loved flair to the sofa. The studio is impressive, and offers a very Traitors vibe, thanks to the dark teal colour of the sofas – as was correctly guessed by guest Jennifer Saunders. Though, despite the nod to the reality series, Winkleman carves herself out as a worthy chat show host – not just as the host of The Traitors who also happens to front a chat show. Daisy Fancourt on Art Cure: ‘If a drug had the same benefits as the arts, we’d take it every day’

Daisy Fancourt on Art Cure: ‘If a drug had the same benefits as the arts, we’d take it every day’

Regular engagement in the arts can lead to ‘widespread longer-term physiological changes’ Maskot/Getty Images I can pinpoint the precise comment that made me want to embark on a career researching the health benefits of the arts. I was fresh out of university, working in the NHS, managing the performing arts programme at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. A pianist had just finished playing on the dementia ward and a relative of a patient came up to me: “What a lovely entertainment programme you run”. It was kindly meant – she’d enjoyed the session. The thing was, I already knew myself that the hospital arts programme wasn’t just entertainment. Far from it. In that sing-along session, I’d seen a patient who couldn’t remember the relatives who were visiting her sing along word-perfect to The White Cliffs of Dover and chat away afterwards about her childhood. Earlier that day, I’d seen a child with burns in the accident and emergency department who hadn’t needed any morphine once the theatre group started their performance, a premature baby …

9 Best Amazon Bed Frames We’d Actually Buy in 2026

9 Best Amazon Bed Frames We’d Actually Buy in 2026

The Best Upholstered Platform Bed on Amazon: Zinus Justina Sleep brand Zinus is known for its affordable mattresses and bed frames, but don’t think that means you’re buying a downgrade in quality. This Justina upholstered option is pretty simple to assemble, with a subdued silhouette. The fabric upholstery snaps into place over a simple metal bed frame, while solid wood legs keep the bed off the floor so your mattress gets plenty of ventilation. It has all the benefits of a sturdy metal frame, but to all the world it looks like an upholstered wood bed, and this one lacks a heavy headboard if you’re paring things back. The Best Bed Frame with an Adjustable Headboard: Zinus Raymond Zinus Raymond Wood Platform Bed with Adjustable Wood Headboard The Raymond platform bed from Zinus has a handy feature: the solid wood headboard can be adjusted to the height of your mattress. This midcentury modern-style option has enough clearance off the floor to store a fair amount of junk under there, though you’ll have to work around …

We’d like to join your Board of Peace, but we can’t – POLITICO

We’d like to join your Board of Peace, but we can’t – POLITICO

Seeking a diplomatic way out, Rome and Berlin both turned to their constitutions. “We are ready. But of course there are objective problems with the way the initiative is structured,” Meloni said in Rome on Friday during a joint press conference with Merz. “I have also spoken to the American president about this. Perhaps we can try to resolve these issues,” she added. Meloni argued that Trump’s peace board would contravene a provision of the Italian constitution that precludes the country from joining international bodies in which one entity — in this case the U.S. president — would have more power than its peers. Merz, who was in Rome for consultations aimed at strengthening German and Italian cooperation within the EU, backed up Meloni’s comments. “I would personally be willing to join a peace board,” Merz said. He then added, however, that: “We cannot accept the governance structures, also for constitutional reasons in Germany. But we are, of course, willing to try other forms, new forms of cooperation.” Germany had previously welcomed Trump’s invitation, while …
