Christian Pulisic’s ex-girlfriend, Alexa Melton, is taking back a previous statement she made about him allegedly cheating on her while they were together.
Melton seemingly hinted that she and the American soccer star had split on April 6, after nearly two years of dating, telling a fan in a since-deleted comment that “mans was on raya before it even ended,” referring to a popular dating app.
While she did not mention Pulisic directly, some fans speculated that she was referencing the soccer player.
Melton clarified her remarks Thursday on her Instagram Story, stating that Pulisic did not cheat on her and that she had been given “false” information.
“I’ve made some comments on a private matter and it’s been taken out of context,” she wrote. “I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine. Out of respect for Christian’s and my privacy, I will not speak further regarding this matter.”
Neither Melton nor Pulisic has publicly confirmed that they have broken up. The Independent has contacted Pulisic’s representatives for comment.
In her initial claim about Pulisic being on Raya, Melton responded to a comment saying, “This generational fumble will be studied for years to come.”
“Guess not fearing God enough. How many likes to post his Raya profile?” she added in another Instagram comment.
Pulisic, 27, and the professional golfer, 25, were romantically linked in June 2024, when they were spotted together in the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament. Melton also made several appearances at Pulisic’s AC Milan matches in Italy, during the club’s 125th-anniversary event in December 2024.
He confirmed the relationship in his 2024 Paramount+ docuseries, PULISIC, saying that he and Melton connected when he slid into her DMs.
Rumors swirled about Pulisic’s dating life in December 2025, when he took to Instagram to shoot down speculation that he was dating actor Sydney Sweeney.
“Fake news guys, let’s stop with the silly rumor,” he wrote in the comments of an Instagram post from Motivating Sport about the dating speculation. “Also please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable, it can affect people’s lives.”
