Celebrity MasterChef has completed its line-up by revealing the third and final heat of this year’s competition. Olympian Lauren Steadman, YouTuber Max Fosh, broadcaster Melvin Odoom, Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver and The Saturdays’ Una Healy have all signed up to test their nerve in the MasterChef kitchen. They will have to pass their heat in order to get to the next round – with new judge Giorgio Locatelli joining Grace Dent to knock out competitors after each episode. Ahead of the show airing later this summer, 15 stars have been announced across this past week by the heat they’re set to make their debut in. Heat one was confirmed to be Emily Campbell, Jason Mohammad, Shakira Khan, Joe Pasquale and Jay McGuiness. Upcoming BBC spy thriller Legacy of Spies has announced a spate of big new castings. The series is based on author John Le Carré’s “espionage masterpiece” The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, and has previously confirmed names including Matthew Macfadyen as iconic spymaster George Smiley. Among those revealed to be joining are The Night Manager’s Hugh Laurie as Control, the “fiendish” head of The Circus and Smiley’s “politically shrewd” and “morally fickle” boss, confirming reports that the actor had been cast. Also on board are The Brutalist’s Joe Alwyn as “charismatic Circus veteran and roguish scalp hunter” Jim Prideaux, who ruffles some feathers with his off-the-books detours, while We Are Lady Parts’ Anjana Vasan is Connie Sachs, the “brilliantly sharp chief Moscow-gazer and queen of Research” at The Circus. There is a $100 price difference between the Artisan Plus and Artisan models. However, the Artisan Plus’s features are small but mighty, and make the cost difference seem like a bargain, especially in higher-stakes recipe scenarios. This upgraded model has a more powerful 350-watt motor compared to the Artisan series model’s 325 watts. With the Artisan Plus’s increased intensity also comes the new precision speed control. Twist the knob of the Artisan Plus and you engage half-speed settings, so you can move between two and 2.5, all the way up to 11. Previous generations capped out at 10 speeds. The Artisan Plus’s “Soft Start” feature gently transitions between speeds. Coupled with the LED light situated above the mixing bowl, it makes managing the most delicate of recipes exact. While I compared the Artisan Plus and Artisan series models, I found that the addition of the bowl light and precision mixing speeds alone made it worth the slightly higher price point. The Pink Palace is expanding. In a significant milestone — its first major extensive expansion since the 1940s — the Beverly Hills Hotel is preparing five new public spaces to pump its dining, entertainment and lounging offerings inside one of Hollywood’s favored hideaways. The new spaces add to a stable that already includes the popular Polo Lounge, Fountain Coffee Room and Cabana Cafe, all of which will remain unchanged. The Dorchester Collection property partnered with designer Ken Fulk, who is serving as creative director for the project. Through his titular firm, Fulk maintains studios in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles and a client list that spans hotels, individuals and brands. He previously teamed with Pharrell Williams to launch Miami’s Goodtime Hotel, and is credited with serving as creative director at Major Food Group and co-founder of Felix Roasting Co.
