Ben Affleck has made a very generous donation to his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez’s, estimated $400 million fortune. The Accountant star, 53, has handed over his entire portion of interest in their $60 million former marital home in Beverly Hills, according to TMZ. In a video accompanying the company’s announcement on Thursday, Ben Affleck said InterPositive’s technology helps filmmakers to build their own, proprietary AI models based on the scenes they’ve already shot, and then use that data to help solve otherwise laborious details. “You can use your own model to remove the wires on stunts, reframe a shot, get a shot you missed, shape the lighting, enhance the backgrounds,” said the Oscar-winning director, producer, writer and actor, who has also joined Netflix as a senior advisor. Netflix buys Ben Affleck’s AI film tech company, InterPositive

In 2022, Ben Affleck became so fixated on AI in film production that he quietly launched his own film tech company, InterPositive. Netflix brought the startup into the spotlight Thursday morning as it announced the full acquisition of the company. InterPositive’s mission, which focuses on developing “AI-powered tools built by and for filmmakers” and using new technology to “protect and expand creative choice,” will now be exclusive to Netflix. March 5 : Netflix said on Thursday it has acquired InterPositive, a filmmaking technology company founded by Academy Award winner Ben Affleck that produces artificial intelligence-powered tools for movie production. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The media industry is warming up to the idea of using AI for content and storytelling, a major pivot from Hollywood’s earlier concerns about the new technology challenging creative jobs and intellectual property rights. Late last year, Disney announced plans to allow OpenAI to use characters from its Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel franchises in the startup’s Sora AI video generator. “We believe new tools should expand creative freedom, not constrain it or replace the work of writers, directors, actors, and crews,” Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said. Netflix is getting into the AI business with Ben Affleck. This isn’t an output deal, it’s a business deal, with the streaming giant set to acquire an AI-powered filmmaking technology company that Affleck quietly founded a few years ago: InterPositive. Affleck will join Netflix as a senior adviser in the deal, alongside all of InterPositive’s staff. The company declined to comment on the terms of the acquisition. “I knew I had a responsibility to my peers and our industry, to protect the power of human creativity and the people behind it. A star rating of 3 out of 5. Collaborations between old pals Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are always worth watching, whether they result in classics like Good Will Hunting or could-have-beens like Air. Writer-director Joe Carnahan’s filmography has been similarly hit and miss, with bangers such as The Grey interspersed with clangers like The A-Team. So, a sense of cautious expectation greets this chewy cop thriller, which was “inspired by true events”, but feels very much like a product of the movies. Frankly, with a first act this exciting, who cares? When Miami cop Jackie Velez (Lina Esco) is gunned down in cold blood, it sends shockwaves through her unit, the TNT (Tactical Narcotics Team).
