Would you and your sexual partner like to share the story of what you get up to in the bedroom? | Sex

How often do you have sex? The Guardian is looking for couples to talk honestly – and completely anonymously – about what they get up to in the bedroom for the Saturday magazine’s much-loved This is How We Do It column. The idea behind the column is to provide a counterpoint to the airbrushed, exaggerated stories about sex we see on TV and in the media. We want to publish un-sensationalised interviews with real couples, so we are particularly keen to hear from you if you have hit a roadblock in your sexual life. How do you navigate intimacy when your partner wants sex more than you do? Or after an affair? Or when you are not feeling spectacular about your body? We’re looking for couples of all ages and sexualities. We would not publish your names or where you live. Share your experience If you’re keen to talk to us about your sex lives you can get in touch by filling in the form below. It is very important that both sexual partners are …

How to Choose the Bamboo Sheets for You (2026)

How to Choose the Bamboo Sheets for You (2026)

I sleep on sheets for a living, and bamboo sheets have become the fabric I can’t stop recommending to everyone. They’re incredibly soft, cool to the touch, and a great pick for just about every kind of sleeper. If you’re wondering how a bamboo plant turns into a bedsheet, whether or not bamboo is actually cooling, or which sets are worth buying, this is the guide for you. After a year and a half of testing more than 20 different sets of bamboo and bamboo-adjacent bedding, there are a few sets that stand out against the pack. My current favorite is Bearaby’s Second Skin Sheets ($247), which manages to be silky-soft and still cozy at the same time, and even boasts antibacterial benefits. If you’re looking for cooling sheets, nothing’s cooler than Ettitude’s Signature Bamboo Sheet Set ($355), nor does anything else come with as many ethical and eco-conscious certifications. Looking to spend a little less but still want Oeko-Tex certified bamboo that comes with ethical sourcing? Try Aeptom’s Bamboo Sateen Sheet Set ($152). Read …

The Best Mattress Toppers (2026): Supportive, Plush, Memory Foam

The Best Mattress Toppers (2026): Supportive, Plush, Memory Foam

Honorable Mentions Not everything we test makes the cut as a pick, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad mattress topper. Here are a few that our testers slept on and got a good night’s sleep with but didn’t love as much as the picks above. Avocado Alpaca Topper for $1,313: If you’re looking for a mattress topper that’s extra soft, WIRED reviewer Scott Gilbertson recommends the Avocado Alpaca Mattress Topper. He says it’s one of the softest things he’s ever slept on, and that it’s like sleeping in a cocoon of fluffiness. While it’s only 2 inches thick, it still has that cozy sinking sensation of deeper mattress toppers. There are two options: medium-firm or plush, with the first using organic wool and the second using what Avocado calls “baby alpaca” fiber. Luckily that’s a reference to how soft it is, not the age of the alpaca itself. It’s certainly a luxury purchase, but a great pick of you want something super soft. Right now only the twin and twin XL sizes are in …

You be the judge: should my wife stop leaving piles of clothes all over the bedroom? | Life and style

You be the judge: should my wife stop leaving piles of clothes all over the bedroom? | Life and style

The prosecution: Kevin Mabel’s clothes mountain gets in the way and sets a bad example for our sons. I call it the ‘Monster’ My wife, Mabel, leaves a permanent pile of clothes in our bedroom on a chair. I call it the “Monster”. It feels as if there are thousands of T-shirts, trousers and sweatshirts always stacked there. I hate it. I don’t know how she finds anything. Also, it’s a pain: the chair is between the bed and my side of the wardrobe, and sometimes the pile is so huge that it stops me from accessing my own clothes. Mabel has too many clothes and she needs to sort out her things. I do ask her nicely to put her clothes in the wardrobe, but she never responds well. Because I work away from home for half of the week, Mabel believes she has a monopoly over our apartment. I don’t agree. We both pay to live here, and when I come home I need to be able to use the bedroom too. When I’m in a …

Sex Toys for Every Type of Body and Ability (2026)

Sex Toys for Every Type of Body and Ability (2026)

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all when it comes to toys aimed at providing accessibility or inclusion, just like there isn’t one type of disability. Very few toys or brands are actually made with disability at the forefront, the exception being Cute Little Fuckers, a queer,- trans-, and disabled-owned sex toy brand. (I tested three of the brand’s toys, above.) So instead, I thought of my own needs as someone with upper-limb disabilities, and I talked to other disabled folks, including those who use wheelchairs or have lower-body disabilities, to find out what they look for in their sex toys. This included tools like slings, pillows, and chairs that help with positioning during sex (or solo play). (More on that below.) Since I have a vagina and upper limb disabilities, many of the toys I tested were aimed at people like me, but many, like app-connected G-spot and clitoral toys, have similar versions with the same in-app features, except for people with penises or those that prefer anal play. I took many factors intro consideration, including weight, …

New psychology research changes how we think about power in the bedroom

New psychology research changes how we think about power in the bedroom

A new study published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin suggests that having a sense of power in a relationship promotes sexual assertiveness, while perceiving a partner as powerful fosters a willingness to accommodate their needs. The findings indicate that healthy sexual dynamics are not about one person holding dominance over another. Instead, the most satisfying interactions appear to occur when both individuals feel they have influence within the relationship. Power dynamics are frequently viewed as potential sources of conflict or exploitation within intimate relationships. A common assumption is that if one partner holds power, they might satisfy their own desires while neglecting their partner. Alternatively, the partner with less power might feel forced to comply with unwanted activities. “Power is commonly thought of as dangerous, particularly within sexual relationships,” said study author Nickola Overall, a professor at the University of Auckland and head of the REACH Lab. ” “People who have high power in relationships might assert their own sexual need while neglecting their partner’s desires. But lacking power is also problematic. People …

Buying a Mattress in 2026? We Tested 100+ and These Were the Standouts

Buying a Mattress in 2026? We Tested 100+ and These Were the Standouts

Compare Our Top Picks Honorable Mentions Photograph: Julia Forbes We tested many mattresses last year and have already hit the ground running in 2026. That said, here are a few options we enjoyed and considered but ultimately didn’t make the starter team. Sleep Number p6 Smart Bed for $3,199: This smart mattress offering from Sleep Number is designed to prioritize pressure relief in your sleep experience. If sensors detect areas that bear the brunt of your weight, “Responsive Air” chambers atop the p6 will adjust in real time to counteract it. It takes some getting used to to hear the bed inflate and deflate on its own, but it truly makes for a personalized sleep experience. Add built-in sleep tracking and 100 adjustable firmness levels, and you get a one-of-a-kind experience. However, to fully enjoy the mattress’s performance, it’s best to also get an adjustable base, which is a significant additional expense. —Julia Forbes. $3,199 to $7,998 Thuma Luxury Hybrid Mattress for $1,795: Thuma’s hybrid mattress is interesting because it blends together a smorgasbord of …

8 Best Couples Sex Toys (2026), Tested and Reviewed

Other Sex Toys to Consider Here are a few other toys that aren’t as great as the picks above but are still worth a try. Lelo Tor 3 Courtesy of Lelo Lelo Tor 3 for $169: If you love cock rings but would love them even more if they were app-enabled, then meet the Lelo Tor 3. While at first the Tor 3 looks very snug, this ring is extremely flexible, making it a perfect fit for all penises or strap-ons, if that’s how you prefer to use this device, as it’s designed to stimulate the clitoris when paired with a partner who has a vulva. Although you can score a whopping two hours of playtime with Tor 3, it’s paramount that you don’t exceed 30 minutes of restricted blood flow to the penis. And if at any time things start to hurt—not in a good way—remove the ring immediately. The Tor 3 doesn’t have the pinchable arms that the Dame Hug has, so it’s up to the users to be cognizant of time limits …
