Awards season isn’t slowing down just yet, and neither are the stars on the red carpet. The 2026 Costume Designers Guild Awards (CDGA) took place at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles on February 12, and celebrities, including One Battle After Another star Teyana Taylor and Song Sung Blue actress Kate Hudson, made a statement in their striking red carpet looks. The CDGA recognizes outstanding achievement in costume design for film, television, short form productions, and costume illustration, so it’s not surprising that fashion played a big part on the night. Tracee Ellis Ross, Janelle Monáe, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Katherine LaNasa all looked incredible, opting for bold colors and statement pieces as they took to the stage to honor their colleagues. We come to the Grammys red carpet for magic. Or, at the very least, we come to the Grammys red carpet to go, “Wow! That’s crazy!” Music’s biggest night is always a bit of a sartorial grab bag. And indeed, on Sunday evening, when the 68th Annual Grammy Awards kicked off at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, we had a feeling we’d be in for a doozy: The top categories were stacked with menswear heavy hitters including Bad Bunny, who wound up wearing Schiaparelli’s first-ever custom menswear; Justin Bieber, who later slipped into a pair of Skylrk boxers to perform “Yukon” onstage; Kendrick Lamar, who accepted his trophy in Chanel; Clipse, who matched Pharrell in pink velvet Louis Vuitton; and Tyler, the Creator, who rolled up in a kelly-green leather set. With the 2026 Golden Globes done and dusted, awards season is officially in full swing. During Sunday’s ceremony, we got a full picture of contemporary red-carpet menswear: tie-free tuxedos; a hefty smattering of brooches and bow-shaped accessories; peak-lapel jackets; wide-legged and flared trousers; offbeat suits by offbeat brands. And from these trends that have emerged over the last half-decade, we can glean at least one truth: The fellas are getting dressed, and for the most part, they want us to take notice. Earlier tonight, a stylist friend texted me asking about the new look of the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet. “What is happening with this Met carpet!” he wrote, in reference to the way this year, the carpet at the Globes includes a very glamorous—and familiar—staircase.
