Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, is set to formally change his surname.On Thursday, editors at TMZ reported that the 24-year-old had filed paperwork to legally drop “Pitt” from his name. According to the outlet, Maddox wants to be known as “Maddox Chivan Jolie” going forward. It’s unclear how long a ruling on the request will take. Angelina adopted Maddox from an orphanage in Cambodia when he was seven months old in March 2002, and three years later, also adopted daughter Zahara, 21, from Ethiopia. But when Angelina and Brad started a relationship, the F1 actor announced his intention to adopt her two children and filed paperwork to switch their surnames to “Jolie-Pitt”, which was granted in early 2006. The former couple also adopted son Pax Thien, 22, in 2007 and are parents to three biological children: Shiloh, 20, and 17-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s adopted son, Maddox, has dealt a new blow to his father amid the actor’s reported estrangement from his family.  The 24-year-old, who was adopted by Angelina in 2002, and later by Brad in 2006, filed to legally remove “Pitt” from his surname on Thursday, as per the Daily Mail. He will now go by Maddox Chivan Jolie, and listed the reason for his name change as “personal”.  The eldest of the Jolie-Pitt children hinted at the major change back in February, when he was listed as “Maddox Jolie” in the credits of Angelina’s film, Couture. It’s a victory for Angelina Jolie. After a long legal battle over the sale of Château Miraval—the French winery Jolie co-owned with her ex Brad Pitt, located in Correns, France—Jolie notched a big win in court on Monday, May 4. According to documents obtained by Page Six, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that Pitt could not compel Jolie to hand over a series of private emails relating to the sale of her shares in the French winery. In 2022, Brad Pitt filed a lawsuit against Angelina Jolie for selling her shares in the estate to the Tenute del Mondo wine group—a division of the Luxembourg-based Stoli Group—without consulting him beforehand. The sale was worth $67 million, which Pitt claimed broke an agreement between the former spouses that neither would sell without the other’s approval. Jolie denied the existence of this agreement and responded by filing a counterclaim, claiming that Pitt was waging a “vindictive war” against her, according to Page Six. “This is an important victory for Ms. Jolie,” said the actress’s lawyer, …

[This story contains spoilers for the 30-year-old Sleepers.] Nearly 30 years later, Sleepers director Barry Levinson still believes that the discourse surrounding his star-studded drama lost the plot.  Based on Lorenzo Carcaterra’s book of the same name, Sleepers begins in the late 1960s, chronicling four teenage friends whose mischievous quest for a free hot dog goes terribly awry when they nearly kill an innocent bystander. Consequently, they’re sent to the Wilkinson Home for Boys where they endure 6 to 18 months of sexual and physical abuse by four guards.  The New York-based film then jumps to 1981. Two of the four friends — John Riley (Ron Eldard) and Tommy Marcano (Billy Crudup) — spot their former lead abuser, Sean Nokes (Kevin Bacon), in a restaurant and gun him down on the spot. So: Who’s in the Adventures of Cliff Booth cast, and who will they be playing? Since April of last year, rumors about the thirteenth film from David Fincher—the upcoming Netflix production currently being referred to as The Adventures of Cliff Booth—have held the majority of the film-bro community’s curiosity. Now, in the wake of a 64-second long Super Bowl trailer (which, it’s worth noting, never actually drops an official title for the film) and a (still-unannounced) release date presumably set for sometime this year, it has our attention. The film, shrouded in a Quentin Tarantino production’s standard veil of secrecy, is an unconventional sequel to Tarantino’s ninth (and I’d argue best) film, the grand late-period summation Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. What makes this project so unusual is that it represents the union of two of the best directors of their generation (Fincher is seven months older), with one master stepping in to take the directorial reins of a sequel written by the other. Damson Idris has gotten a green light to expand his relationship with Formula 1. The actor, who starred opposite Brad Pitt in the blockbuster best picture Oscar nominee F1: The Movie, has officially joined the F1 family as a global brand ambassador. In the role, Idris will “act as a bridge between the world of Formula 1 and the wider cultural and entertainment landscape,” per F1. In doing so, he’ll attend several grand prix races and support the league with content, partner and promotional activities. “I’ve always been drawn to spaces where culture, performance and precision meet, and Formula 1 sits right at the center of that,” said Idris in a statement. “I had an enormous amount of respect for it before making the film, but getting closer to it gave me a real understanding of the innovation, the heart and the intensity behind everything, and the elite level the drivers operate at. Film bros the world over were tossed a hail mary in their breadbasket Sunday night, with a surprise teaser for David Fincher’s The Adventures of Cliff Booth—an unconventional continuation of Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which we’ve all been speculating and salivating over since it was officially announced with Fincher attached to direct in April of last year—that droppped in the midst of the Seattle Seahawks’ delightful smothering of the New England Patriots in the 60th Super Bowl. The minute-long teaser is obviously light on plot but knows its audience will be freeze-framing and hashing out particulars on Reddit between now and whenever the next preview drops ahead of the movie’s still undated release sometime this year. Fincher, who doesn’t necessarily cut his own trailers but has had some of the greatest of this century attached to his films, appears to have upheld the standard of photoreal, immersive production design Tarantino set with the original installment.
