Sad news for tart lovers. Tarte by Cheryl Koh will be closing down after 11 years, with its final day of operations on Apr 26. The brand is helmed by Singaporean pastry chef Cheryl Koh, who is also the pastry chef of three-Michelin-starred French restaurant Les Amis, currently ranked No. 38 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list. It first opened at Shaw Centre in 2015 as a casual but chic spin-off of the Les Amis Group, focusing on artisanal French-style tarts made with premium seasonal ingredients. Source link

Marks & Spencer is closing a number of cafes across the UK, with the spaces to be repurposed for uses that better suit the customer experience. While none of the M&S London branches is affected by the closures, the news will likely be disappointing to many cafe lovers across the country. Often seen as a spot for weary customers to take a break from their shopping and recharge, M&S cafes offer a range of hot and cold drinks and delicious breakfast and lunch items. According to the latest announcements, 14 cafes have already closed or are set to close imminently to make way for new customer services across the UK. Mexican alternative band Café Tacvba is petitioning two of the largest music labels to take its catalog off of Spotify. On Wednesday, the group’s singer Rubén Albarrán made an Instagram post calling on its former labels Universal Music Mexico and Warner Music Mexico to take action. “I delivered letters to the record labels WMM and UMM, which by contract have the exploitation rights of Café Tacvba’s catalog, asking them to remove our music from the platform Stupidfy [sic] because it contradicts our artistic vision and our personal and band ethics,” Albarrán said. He also claimed that the streaming giant invests in weapons manufacturing, runs ads for ICE and uses artificial intelligence in a way that is detrimental to musicians.
