As any runner knows, getting the right pair of trainers is a fine art — one that often involves wince-inducing words like ‘pronate’, ‘gait’ and ‘expensive’. Most pairs of good running shoes will set you back at least £200, if not more. For regular pavement-pounders, they’re a necessary part of the lifestyle; not only are they more technologically advanced than ever, but a decent set of trainers will help keep you injury-free.
